Elsa dreaded meeting Hiccup. Mainly because he reminded her of the good days. The days when she and he lay huddled together in a tight embrace in the blistering cold, forming a warm blanket around themselves. He wasn't the bravest Viking, but he certainly was the most interesting. She had learned so much from him. He had thought her to not quiver under the dominant. When he had left her alone she became unusually insane. She did have a crush on him but this level of possessiveness was impractical. Seeing him outside, talking with his friends, made her feel betrayed and useless, because she was the one there for him before all this happened, because he had left her for other people.

She was all alone.

Her sisters and she didn't have anything to do with each other. People despised and were disgusted by her. And her parents died.

It wasn't like before they died she and her parents were close but they were still her parents. Her father always disapproved of her and her mother was caught up on her work anyway. They had died a heroic death. They had died in a war. Elsa didn't spend her most of her time after their death crying. She felt like it was a waste of time and they wouldn't want that. One other reason she didn't cry was chiefly because she just couldn't bring herself to. She still can't bring herself to. At their funeral, everyone was in tears apart from her-including Astrid! Many people were whispering about her being heartless. She didn't think it was an insulting till she found out it was supposed to be, and even then she didn't mind. Largely because she knew if she let her emotions out everyone would be in grave danger. She was told to look on the bright side the few times she and her mum talked. When her father shouted at her, it was for her best. When people talked about her, they were helping her improve. So when her parents died, they missed seeing her failing at the Cleoran.

In her parent's funeral, Elsa confirmed that the people of Berk were stupid. She always knew they weren't the sharpest swords even though they had many. However, she didn't think they were daft to this degree. How can someone be heartless? If you were heartless you would be dead. There are three keepers for the body. The heart, the soul and the mind. The heart is the holder of life. The soul is the holder of emotions while the mind is the holder of knowledge. The heart and mind can live without the soul whereas neither the union of soul and mind or soul and heart can live. So she wasn't heartless, but soul-less.

It is quite sad really. They are complaining about something that they did to her. She used to be so full of life. So merry. They did this to her. Now she only exists, she doesn't live.
