The Weekend Is Here In 10...

I sat at my desk, staring at nothing for the past two hours. As usual, my teacher ran out of lessons for today and had two whole hours left over. She could've put on a movie, or at least played some videos about the subject of this class. But no, she had to tell us to sit and wait until class was over. I looked at the clock.

10....
9....
8....

I sat up straight and continued staring at the clock as all the other students realized what time it was.

7....
6....
5....

I managed to shove all my books and papers in my backpack in the span of three seconds.

4....
3....

I slung the blue backpack over my shoulder and slowly started getting up.

2....
1....

And the bell rang. The final bell of the week, that was it. We were done. Every girl in the room sprung up from their chairs and stampeded out the door in large groups. I walked over to my teachers desk.

"Ms. Page?"

The young woman looked up at me, brushing blond strands of hair out of her eyes. "Yes, Alice?"

"May I stay at my uncle's house for the weekend?" I asked.

"Of course, dear. Just let me mark you down..." she slowly wrote my name down on a piece of paper. Actually, slow is an understatement. This lady took ten minutes to write my name and my uncle's name down. "There you go. Now, off with you. I have papers to grade. Oh, and remember to finish your Prince project this weekend."

"Of course, Ms. Page. See you on Monday!" I sped out of the room and out in the hallway to be greeted by Len.

She smiled, "Heya! Going to your uncle's, hm? Good because I'm going to my grandma's house this weekend. The dorm will be empty."

"Yeah, guess it's good for all of us. I don't think I can trust you alone in the dorm anymore." I started walking down the hallway and she walked beside me.

"That's true..." she laughed a little. "Anyway, where's Canvas gonna stay?"

"Canvas is staying with Deski for the next seven days, remember?"

"Oh, you and all your wacky friends! Which one is Deski?" Len ran her fingers through her black hair and got them stuck in a knot that she wrestled with.

"Deski is the guy who's dating Reyen. He wears a blue hoodie and you can't see his face... he has that white 'X' over his left eye." I explained.

Len nodded, "Okay, I know who that is now."

We came upon the two iron doors that led to the front courtyard. We each pushed the huge doors open and cringed at the bright sun. Once our eyes sort of adjusted, we walked to the edge of the street and looked around.

"Oh! There's my ride!" Len barked as she pointed at a red van with an older gentleman sitting in the drivers seat. She turned to me, "Bye, Alice! Maybe we can meet up this weekend and work on that Prince project thing."

I waved her goodbye as she climbed into the passengers seat of the van and started babbling to the man next to her.

"Prince project?" A familiar voice erupted from behind me, causing me to jump a little bit.

I whirled around and saw Leo Sumor standing behind me with one eyebrow raised.

"Oh, that. It's a project that we have to finish this weekend." I said quietly.
