"Rebecca..rebecca!" my friend said, pulling my arm to knock me out of my trance."What?" I asked, looking at her. She chuckled.
"What were you thinking about?" she asked. I shrugged.
There he was. Jack Johnson. He was "popular" and everyone always wanted to be around him. He was sweet and charming and I've only talked to him like twice when we had to partner up for something.
He looked up and caught my eye, making me jerk my gaze away and look at the floor. When I looked back up he was still staring while he talked with his friends. I gave him an awkward half-smile and he looked away.
"You were staring at Jack. You like him!" Mia (A/N: made that up sorry) said.
"I do not!" I protested.
"Mhm. Well I heard he doesn't have a date for prom." she said, winking and nudging me. I rolled my eyes and laughed at her.
"I'm not asking him to prom Mia." I said eating my lunch. She sighed.
"You two would be so cute together though!"
"I'm not asking." I looked back over to him. He was looking at me and when he saw that I noticed his eyes darted to the floor and a light red crept up his neck. Mia kept rambling about how I should ask him. I ignored her and continued to eat my lunch.
Jack's POV
People were talking around me but I just couldn't hear exactly what they were saying.
"Mhm." I mumbled to someone who had asked me a question. My eyes were fixed on her. She looked up and saw me staring so I darted my gaze to the floor. She was so beautiful, the way she tucked her hair behind her ears, the way she's so shy and quiet, even around her own friends. She's just so unique and herself and it drives me wild.
"You're staring at Rebecca!" Cameron said, pushing my shoulder.
"I'm not!" I protested, but it was too late. They caught me.
"Dude, you like her." Nash said. I felt the blood rush to my neck and cheeks as they continued to tease me.
"Ask her to prom! You're the only one who doesnt have a date out of all of us and I'm sure she doesn't either!" Cam said.
"It's not that easy. What if she says no?"
"She's not going to! We'll help you." Nash said, looking at Cam. I sighed but nodded.
"What's the plan?" I asked.
Rebecca's POV
The next day, Mia and I sat at our normal lunch table, but Jack and his freinds were no where in sight.
"That's weird." I said.
"What is?" Mia asked.
"They're not here," I said. Mia shrugged and took a bite of her sandwich.
"They're probably just late, Becca. Just eat." She said, shoving me tray at me. I sighed and ate.
Halfway through lunch, Cameron and some other boy with really blue eyes sat down across from us, looking straight at me. I dropped my sandwich onto the tray and looked at them.
"You're Rebecca, right?" the one with blue eyes asked. I nodded.
"I'm Heyes. This is Cameron. Come with us." They said.
"Why would I want to go wi-"
"Rebecca, are you crazy! Go with them." Mia said. I sighed and stood up, following the boys into the auditorium.
"Sit in the front." they said, running backstage. I walked to the front, confused as hell.
After five minutes of waiting, the curtain started to open and five boys stood there. I think it was five. It was dark and I could only see the shadows of them.
Then a 'P' lit up in front of the first boys- Nash.
Then an 'R' in front of Heyes.
Then an 'O' in front of Cameron.
An 'M'in front of Jack G.
And then lastly a question mark in front of Mia, who winked at me. I tilted my head in confusion until I saw him..
Jack J. walked onto the stage with roses.
"Prom?" he asked. I felt like I could burst any moment. I sprung up and ran on stage, hugging him.
"Yes!" I said, his arms wrapping around my waist. everyone cheered and clapped and Jack and I stood there, hugging.
