CHAPTER 1

"Put'em up" I yell. It's been 3 years since Jace cheated on me, but I don't care anymore,life is amazing. I'm the best shadow hunter of my generation, I have a stunningly attractive boyfriend and my parabati, Kenna is like a sister to me. People around here call me 'C' because Clary was boring and old, but it also reminds me of Ja-. I hit the floor with a thud, Kenna giggled behind me, I have been training for 4hours, but it's never enough for Kenna.

After having a shower I put on, black high waisted jeans, white crop top and over the knee brown boot. I put on mascara and eyeliner, straighten my hair and but on a bomber jacket. I passed Kris on way out of the Institute. Kris is Kenna's mum and runs the London Institute. We live with Matt, Ben, Isaac and Will.Boys. Matt and Ben are twins and brothers to Kenna, there 12. Isaac and Will are parabati and are 19,we are an odd mix but family. I have a date with Will so I'm trying look good and not wearing gear is a big step. Due to me being an amazing Shadow Hunter I wear gear constantly but for Will anything.

I walked into the library to find everyone gathered around the table.
"What's going on?"
Kenna turns, a worried expression plasters her face.
" It seems the Clave has summoned every Shadow Hunter over 10 to a meeting in Alicante. Go pack."
With a sigh I left the room, one day please can I just have one day to spend with Will. I stuff my clothes in a bag, some weapons and makeup, then head back to the library. The portals open and Will stuffs his hand in mine before we land in the Accords Hall.

There are so many Shadow Hunters but the great table had been set out with place names for organisation. I am at the top due to my status, but sitting next to me are the Lightwood, one of the respected family's of the Shadow world. Trying to buy time I go to the bathroom, but I realised it only made things worse. Jace was staring at my seat and decided to next to me. No. I look in the mirror. I have grown, I wear makeup I have my hair in French plaits incase of any action and I'm Clary Morgenstern. I can to this. I walk out to find the meeting has started and Consul Rhoda is ask of my whereabouts. I step into the light and apologise for my absence. Then with grace and speed I slip into my seat ignoring the open mouths and wide eyes of the Lightwoods. Consul Rhoda began.

"As we are all aware, Sebastian Morgenstern is a danger to our raise and must be dealt with immediately. But we must work in groups to accomplish our goal. I am proposing to that we let the most skilled and advanced Shadow Hunters take this mission."

People stirred in there seats but the Consul continued.

" I have discussed with the heads of every Major Institute and we have the list here. Leading this mission as Head will be Jace Lightwood."

My stomach lurched, I didn't want to go on this mission even if I wanted my brother dead.

"The other members will be Isabelle and Alec Lightwood, May Turner ,Will Cannington."
Yes, Will was chosen I though.

"And Kenna Penhallow. Will you please stay at the end for discussion."
The meeting ended and everyone was told to stay in Alicante. I was just leaving when the Consul grabs my arm. I turn conscious of Will, Kenna and the Lightwood staring at us.

" Clarissa I wanted to announce your role privately."
Oh no! I thought I was free but my status has come back to bite me.

" Clarissa would you consider heading this plan but in secret. I wanted you to do it from the beginning but I wanted it be just between us." She whispered
I was speechless but I spoke anyway.

"Isn't Jace meant to be the Head?" I whisper back still conscious of their beady eyes.

"Yes but I need I a Shadow Hunter of talent and knowledge therefore I ask you. Will the lead this mission?"

I think for a few minute before simply nodding. The Consul dismissed the other along with me. I walk past them all without a word. But then May speaks. I hate May and she hates me she was the one who Jace cheated on me with. And everything about her makes me want to smash her face.

"Clary you weren't chosen. What a shame." In a stupid girly voice
I turn and grin before walking to the training centre.

CHAPTER 2

I start gearing up, I have a few more surprises to show the others.

Kenna came into the training room with the others.

" Clary we gotta trainer but they haven't turned up" Kenna said.

" Actually I'm your trainer for today"

They all stared until May snorted.

" What can you teach us" she said viciously.

I had used a new rune early to create hallucinations. I was gonna have some serious fun!

" Watch".
Then I used my disappearance rune to bring a knife to Jace's neck. She then screamed
" You killed him".

Will grabbed me from behind and shook me hard.
"Clarissa please".
I stopped the hallucinations and turned to May who was on the floor crying.
" Learn this, if you were a real shadow hunter you would have seen it was a hallucination, please don't piss me off again because I will kil-

Will cut me off with a stare, we continued training until I stabbed myself with a seraph blade
