(Deans POV) (Nighttime) (Third person)

Dean sat alone curled up in the corner if his hospital bed, gripping the sheets with bruised knuckles and a blackened eye
(Flashback)

Dean made hotdogs for dinner as that was all they really had amongst the empty shelves. He called Sammy down to eat and walked upstairs to shower. He never ate much anymore because he'd rather starve than see Sam unhappy.

He had turned the water on as he heard the front door open. "Oh god. Dads Home" was his only thoughts. He was already in the shower so he hurried quicky to finish up and throw on a towel. He stormed out and put on a pair of long boxers in flannel patterns. He ran downstairs to see Sammy bloody on the floor and John looming over him.

Immediatly he sprang into action and shoved his dad away. He grabbed Sammy and ran upstairs, locking the door to his room behind himself. Immediatly calling 911 the operator picked up
"Hello whats your emergency"
"Child abuse please help us I live at-"

But he never finished. His father had stormed up after him into Sams room where they sat and busted through the door.

"Where d'ya think yur goin?" He slurred out. He began to stumble towards the brothers in an intimidating fashion.

He grabbed Dean by the collar ad socked him in the cheek. Dean fell to the floor with nearly no fight. He blacked out.
(End of flashback)

Dean was writhing in his hospital bed, allowing small tears to seep out. He looked over at Sam and saw how bad it really was. The doctor walked in slowly and say across from Dean.

"Hello Mister Winchester I presume. Im very sorry for what has happened tonight."
"Sam...Is Sam okay?"Dean questioned crossly.
"He is...Well...We won't know until he wakes up...We think he'll pull through-"

Dean leapt across the bed and tackled the doctor to the ground and spat
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN THINK! YOU ARE A GODDAMN MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL NOW FIX MY FUCKING BROTHER" Was all he got out before he was sedated.

(Cas's POV) (Third Person) (Night)

Castiel was walking home still dressed in his blue vest and kacky slacks. Tonight was a bit nippy so he wrapped a trench coat around himself, using the tanned hide to keep himself warm.

He approached his driveway noticing only one light was on, his brothers. His brother Gabriel always waited for him to get home no matter how late. Cas began to think that it was just an excuse so he could stay up past kufew and eat sweets.

Stepping inside he locked the door behind as Gabe came crashing into his chest "Hey Cas, how was work" He said through eating a lollipop. He laughed in reply.

"Shouldnt you be in bed?" He asked. For a 14 year old Gabe was like a bratty kid. All talk, no sleep and was more stubborn than a mule. "But I wanna stay up!" He pouted, pointing out puppy dog eyes.

"No butts. We have school tommorow and dads not here so its my job to make sure you arn't a tired littls shit tommorow." He said rubbing the boys head.

Only being 17 Cas was working a job and was also the only parent of the house 99 percent of the time. The reason Cas was only in 11th grade was due to military difficulties. He didnt start kindergarten until 7 and he failed freshman year.

Gabe ran upstairs and locked the door behind him laughing. Cas knew the boy would tire himself out eventually so he himself settled on the couch. He opened a beer and took a swig of it, cringing. His father let him drink on occasion but what his father didn't know wouldnt hurt him.
