My phone woke me up by vibrating in my hand. I had fallen asleep texting Yui again. However, I was surprised when I sat up to look at my phone, as it was a message from Yui a couple of seconds ago. I sat up, and read the text aloud.
Yui: I'll be making my way to the airport by myself today, no need to come and pick me up.
I re-read it just to be sure that it was actually me who she meant to send it to, confused and a little bit hurt. How cold, that isn't like her at all I thought to myself, frowning. I was due to pick up Yui in a few minutes from now, as we were going to the airport together to meet Su- but her message obviously said otherwise.
I didn't want to overthink anything, so I decided to take it off my mind by getting changed and brushing my teeth before I ventured downstairs to get breakfast. When I was finally finished with my morning routine, I stepped out of the house and said farewell to my family. "Be safe!" my mother called after me like she always did.
To my surprise, a taxi was already waiting for me outside and I stepped in quickly. The driver began to drive as soon as I had entered. I pulled out my phone from my pocket immediately and texted Yui.
Moa: Why? Is something the matter? You can tell me anything, you know that.
It sounded a bit obvious, but I couldn't really think of anything else to say that would provoke an answer. I got a response almost straight away like she had been waiting for me to say something.
Yui: Not this time, Moa.
What on earth was she talking about? I thought I had better talk to Su when I arrived at the airport. Maybe she knew what was going on.

It was 10:44 when I finally arrived, walking up to Su who was standing by a vending machine. "Hey! How are you?" I exclaimed, grinning widely. She turned around immediately, greeting me with a little wave. "I'm fine thanks, where's Yui?" Su raised an eyebrow when she said this.
I shook my head and replied "Have a look at my text messages," I held my phone out in front of her and she widened her eyes in disbelief. "She's never said anything like that before, what's gotten into her?" I shrugged and shoved my phone back in my pocket. "I guess we'll find out when she arrives."
Twenty minutes had already passed, and eventually we saw someone wearing a face mask and wheeling a suitcase behind her. She had a t-shirt on with a skirt and boots. I knew it was Yui. As she met up with us, I greeted her and she said nothing; not even to Su. It wasn't just me she was ignoring and I felt somewhat relieved.
Author's note: This is my first time writing a fanfiction like this, and I hope it's sufficient enough >.<
