And they were lying side by side on the floor, talking and laughing late into the night about something that had happened years ago.

"Oh God," she managed to say through her laughter, "I couldn't believe that you would actually do that."

"You actually ran two and a half miles in the dark to tell me that you love me and that you want me to stay," she said, "and everyone knows how much you hate running because you're a lazy ass."

He couldn't help but laugh at the truth in her final statement of him.

"Well hey," he replied, "If I didn't put aside my hatred for running, we wouldn't be here right now. We would not even happen, you know. You were about to leave the country for good and I could have had lost you forever if I didn't run after you and confess my true feelings to you."

"Yeah but still, running for two and half miles. That's crazy-" she gazed at his face, letting out a soft giggle, "-you're crazy."

He then rolled to his side and held her gaze steadily, not blinking or shifting away.

"Yeah, I was crazy," he said as he reached out and pushed her hair back from her face, "And I am still crazy,"

"Crazy for you."
