Becca stood in front of the building that housed her new job yet again. This time however, she had her extra large suitcase with her, hoping to stow it in her office without anyone important seeing. She was in a more business function appropriate dress, she had balled the other one in a nearby waste bin, this time and hoped everything would go smoothly after the spat she had just had with Olivia. Looking back on it the topic of the fight had been stupid but Becca was too proud and busy to call her friend and apologize right now.
The fight had played out like this:
"Oh my god, you got this job from some guy you met in a bar. That's a story to tell your mum and dad back home, I can see it now." She mimicked Becca's voice as she said, "oh yeah mom the new job's great. Oh I didn't tell you that I got a new job? Well that's probably because I met this guy in a bar and he couldn't stop staring at my tits. Yeah that usually ends differently." She switched back to her own voice, "honestly Beccs, what were you thinking? And then you just go to the address he scribbled on some grotty cocktail napkin. You are so lucky the business was legit. He could have been luring you to his sex dungeon/organ trafficking den." She laughed again; her hysterics had been the humorous kind this time.
Becca had snapped, not her finest moment, "of course I looked him up before I went there. I'm not stupid." She had then run into the bathroom for some separation from her former roommate. When she had come out she had been alone in the room and had come here.
She parked her suitcase around the side of the building and walked through the doors. No one was watching so she started back out to retrieve her suitcase when a voice called out to her.
"You're early." TaeSong walked over looking stressed. He recovered quickly and spoke graciously, "was there something you wished to ask me?"
Becca managed to keep her secret as she smiled at the man, "Oh no, I just purchased some floor cushions and was going to store them in my office. I wanted to be here when they were delivered so as to mitigate confusion." She offered her new boss an angelic beam and continued, "You look stressed again. Which group is it this time?"
Taesong took a calming breath, "One of my older groups. I think I had better go try to shake this headache; if you'll excuse me."
Quickly, Becca retrieved her suitcase, stowed it in her office, which blessedly had a couch long enough to sleep on, and was back in the front with time to spare before the delivery arrived. The receptionist from the day before was at her post and greeted Becca.
"I remember you from yesterday. Im Soo Ah." She said this matter of factly while extending her hand for Becca to shake.
Becca took the hand and gave a warm unreturned smile, "Becca Tomas, pleased to meet you. Have you been with the company a long time? I'd really like to learn the ropes from someone who I didn't think was lying." This made Soo Ah giggle softly until she saw someone over her shoulder that made her go quiet.
One of the group that she'd met with briefly was standing behind her. He had pouty lips that were presently pressed together in an expression of annoyance. He brushed passed Becca and said to the girl behind the desk, "practice room three must have a mold problem. The air in there is stale. Please tell TS that if he doesn't want to pay for medical care he might at least provide a work environment that won't make his artists sick." He then left without so much as a smile.
Right then the order arrived and Becca had to deal with that before she could contemplate the terse way the boy had acted or the possibility of mold in the ventilation.
While escorting the nice young man back to the lobby Becca felt eyes on her. "Curiosity is normal, you'll introduce yourself at the event they are having to welcome you." That was what she told herself as she hurried back to her office to inspect the air vent in her ceiling. Once back in her office she climbed the step stool that she found in her supply closet and began her inspection of the vents.
"What'cha doin?" Came a voice from the doorway. It belonged to another one of the group she'd seen the day before. This one leaning against the door jamb, which accentuated his height, had a devious look in his eyes like there was a joke he alone was privy to.
"I heard that there may be a mold problem in this building and I'm checking to see if I can do anything about it. " Becca said all this while continuing with her task. She had by this time succeeded in getting the front grate unscrewed and took it of before placing it on the floor. Her visitor had abandoned the door frame and was sprawled on her couch watching her with high interest. "Becca Tomas. And you are?"
"Choi, Jun Hong. You know you're not being paid to check our vents. Wouldn't your time be better spent teaching me English?"
This was a test. "Your English is fine. Honestly if you weren't an idol no one would know you were Korean. I have some lessons already prepared on a thumb drive in my..." she had almost told him about her suitcase,
