I was in my room laying in my bed, scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed. I felt sleepy, but I didn't want to take a nap. I had my finals tomorrow... and I knew if I had fallen asleep, I wouldn't be able to sleep later on tonight. I had to wake up at 5:00am to do my daily jog. My shower was calling my name. As I sat up to walk to my dresser, my phone started to ring. It was my bestfriend Cassie. I answered.
"Hello?" I said sleepy.
"Hey. So Marissa, listen... for the finals tomorrow... I don't have my book to study. Do you mind if I stay the night and study for a little at your house tonight?" She sounded worried.
Cassie was the nerdy type. Always concerned about her grades. She loved going to school.
"Sure." I said. "But Cassie, when you come... be sure to bring your curling iron. Mine broke." I added.
There was a long pause, for a moment I thought she had hung up on me.
"Of course, I'll be over soon. See you later Rissa."
Gosh, I hated when she called me that. I guess it was okay for her, only. I got my clothes from my dresser, as my night wear I picked out gray sweat pants, a black bra, and a Victoria's Secrets sweater. I know, call me crazy. I walked to the bathroom. I brought my phone with me so I can listen to music as I shower, it's kind of a habit. I turned the water on to a really hot temperature. I loved hot water. I got undressed, and stared at myself in the mirror for a minute, then got in the shower. I put some strawberry and cream scented body wash onto my sponge and washed up slowly, thinking about the course of the day. When I finished, I wrapped myself in a towel and walked to my room with my dirty clothes in my hand. I reached my room a couple feet after, when I opened my door, I saw Cassie there.
She looked up. "Hey!" She said excited.
"Hey Cassie." I said sounding unexcited. I closed my door behind me, dropped my dirty clothes into my hamper, and dried myself off. I didn't mind changing in front of Cassie. She's my bestfriend... and we practically have the same body parts. I got dressed and brushed my hair.
"So, Rissa, guess what?" She finally said calmly.
"Chicken Butt?" I smiled as I made a joke out of the statement.
I finished brushing my hair and plopped down on the bed. We were laying on the bed facing each other. "No. Jake Miller asked me out!" I smiled so wide. I've been trying to get those two together for years! "Oh my gosh Cassie. Congratulations!" I had a boyfriend. His name was Cameron. Cameron Dallas. She gave me a huge bear hug. "Thank you, for never giving up on us." I smiled and nodded. "It's no big deal. I know how much you liked him." She looked down. "I kind of teared up when he asked me out." She fiddled with her fingers. "Aw! Cassie. That's so cute." She smiled. "Well, let's get to bed. We have a big day tomorrow." I agreed. I turned off the lights and we soon fell asleep.
5:00am the next morning:
I just finished jogging my mile run. I walked inside and took off my coat then hung it up and took my headphones out of my ears. I walked upstairs. My mom was at work already. She's a CEO at the National MAX Technology Company. I got dark blue skinny jeans out, with a white tank top, black over sweater, and my black ugg boots. I wasn't the type of girl to go all in on my appearance. I cared what I looked like, but I always had my limits. I got my towel and walked to the bathroom, I got in the shower and after like 30 minutes of washing up and thinking in my shower... I dried off and got dressed. I started working on my hair. It was 5:35 when Cassie woke up.
"Goodmorning beautiful." I smiled at her.
"Goodmorning sunshine." She smiled back and rubbed her eyes.
