She sat next to me when she was done introducing herself...

Though I was intrigued when I just noticed how the other students reacted to her, sitting on that specific chair...

They were terrified... shocked... as if no one, and not a single soul, should be sitting where she was...

The teacher didn't mind though, for he was new...
