After that period, I couldn't wrap my mind around anything. Except him. Tyler was exceptionally gorgeous. He was so different from the other cocky, ill-mannered boys here. sure, this was a really nice place. Some of the people were actually really nice and welcoming. Estacada was a really nice town, and I was also excited about going on the annual school hiking trip. I've heard horror stories about what some guys to with freshman girls on the trip, but when the school went on hiking trips in West Virginia, there were teachers around so im sure there would be some here, too. Anyways, I really loved going outside. It was so pretty here. Not nearly as beautiful as my small town in West Virginia, but nature is nature, and I probably only held that opinion because i've lived there my whole life.

Disturbing me from my thoughts, the bell rang throughout the hallway. I was late to second period, just my luck. At least it was only fundamentals of art. It was a necessary class to pass high school, so I decided i'd just take it in my freshman year just to get it over with. As I walked into the room, I was greeted with a foot-long beard and drug rug-wearing man who must've been about 40.

"Jess Meyers?" He said, calmly. His voice was very rough, and if I hadn't known any better, i'd say my actual teacher was sick the first day of school.

"Yes," I replied apologetically, "i'm so sorry, i'm new to the school and i-" i looked around, taking in the glares i was receiving from the class. I heard a few giggles, and an extremely familiar, seductive voice coming from behind me.

"Sorry, Mr. Yates. I forgot to show her the 3rd wing. Kind of a big school, ya know?"

I looked behind me to see none other than the gorgeous Tyler and his tall frame towering over me. He looked down at me, with the most attractive slight smile i've ever seen. His large white teeth were prominent as he placed his arm ever so slightly on the small of my back, leading me to the only free seat available in the room. As he sat next to me, Mr. Yates replied,

"oh, Tyler, don't worry about it. I can see you've handled the situation quite nicely."

Tyler flashed him back a small smile. As I looked around the room once again, no one else was looking. Or even working, for that matter. They were all pretty much doing their own thing.

"If you haven't figured it out yet, this period is pretty much a free period. Mr. Yates has been teaching here ever since he graduated college, so he has pension now. He just listens to Jimmy Hendrix all day. It's an easy A." Tyler says.

The way he presented himself was so attractive. He carried himself with dignity, respect, and maturity. Sometimes its not so much about how a guy looks, but how he acts that attracts girls to him. However, he had the best of both worlds.

"So what do people usually do during this period?" I replied, timidly. I was so intimidated by him, and, seeing as how he's the only person i've talked to in the entire school other than my first two teachers, I really didn't want to mess things up between us. Our friendship, that is. I was also quite curious about how everyone kept looking at Tyler, and how the teacher just let him come into class with no warning at all. However, Tyler did say we was a pretty relaxed teacher, so I guess it makes sense.

The reactions of other student still baffled me. Why wasn't he talking to anyone but me? Why was everyone looking at him, not us, but specifically him? With all these questions racing through my mind, he shrugged and said

"Usually homework. Socializing. Texting. Sally over there just calls her boyfriend and talks to him all period. Its really awkward when they get in arguments, because she ends up yelling and crying. Some people even sleep. It is only second period, after all."

I nodded in agreement, looking around at the several heads plopped down on their desks. I would understand why if i hadn't drank 2 cups of coffee this morning.

"So," he continued, "Whats your story?"

I gazed up at him, confused. "My story?" I questioned.

"Yes," He continued, "I mean I know you're from West Virginia, but i'm just so curious to find out more about you. You're so... captivating."

The way he spoke took my breath away. Me? Captivating? This moment couldn't have gotten any better.

"Wrong", the universe challenged.

Just as I was about to answer, the bell rang. He groaned in despair as he slugged his bookbag over one shoulder, smiling at me and walking me through the doorway. We had the same first, second, and third period classes. It really felt too good to be true. As he escorted me to biology, he sat down in a seat with none others around him open. Confused, I blankly looked at him, eyebrows furrowed.

"Assigned seating, sorry babe" He said apathetically

Babe. Babe. Oh my god he called me babe. Out of all of the stupid puppy names, Babe drove me absolutely crazy.

I shrugged with a smile, trying to hide the blush that crept on my cheeks, while walking over to the teacher's desk.

"You must be Jess" She said with a warm smile. "You are over there seated next to Harry." She said as she pointed to an open seat next to a window. Third period was the longest, and I would be spending over an hour next to the person I sat next to at the two-person desk. Thankfully, my desk was only a few seats away from Tyler. He shot me a warm smile, right up until he heard the teacher say Harry's name. Tyler shot Harry a glare, and the gesture was returned. I quietly sat in my seat, waiting for class to begin. I took out my phone as I was texting my old crush from West Virginia. I was really interested in him but I don't do well with long distance relationships so I just kind of dropped it. He was still a very nice friend.

"Hey, I'm Harry," The kid next to me said. I was taken aback by his appearance, he was covered in tattoos, wearing- wait, was he wearing skinny jeans? In August? In the SOUTH? This boy looked like he just came from a foreign country. He wore an American-flag bandana around his mess of auburn curls. The last thing I saw of him were his eyes. They were easily the most attractive attribute about him. Wrong-

"Shy, are you?" He deep throatily chuckled. He had dimples. I was wondering if this boy was created by the gods as I replied,

"Sorry, i''m new, my names-"

"Jess. What a beautiful name. Fitting, too."

What the hell. Why was he flirting with me. My mind was racing with possibilities as the bell rung, ordering for silence throughout the class room.

However, that didn't stop from the glared between Tyler and Harry.
