the louder we laugh, the subdued we cry.
its not about being cherophobic, but when life is all about the synchronised arrival and departure of happiness and sorrow
we learn to laugh audibly and cry silently.
and then we tend to love that state when tears escape leaving us smile..
"AARU DIIIIII I don't get a word yaaar
Our English mam taught us to write diary like I woke up at 6 , had breakfast at 7 , went to school at 8 , returned at 4 , played till 6, studied till 8 and slept at 9
And you're writing poetry in your diary?

"KRIYAAAA DON'T READ DIARY OF OTHERS!
CLOSE IT! NOW!"

"UFFO! okay boss" Kriya seemed somewhat shocked

"the 'twenty four hours a day, seven days a week' angry boy aryan was little less mad unexpectedly.
and his 'oh so sweet' wifey has got all the temper today!
Kriya baby you're dead" the cute little crackpot was lost in her thoughts

"Did you say anything" come the question from aaradhya and Kriya stood shocked for the second time in few minutes

"what if NOOOOOOO" she rolled her eyes and denied quickly

"Hmmm okay! I'll come after a shower, go and play your favourite video game till then" Aaradhya walked to the washroom

even before Kriya turning on her video game, there come a loud cry from the washroom terrifying the little one

"AARU DIIIIII" she ran towards her and started hitting the door
and aaradhya someway managed to open it
"Are you okay di? what happened?" Kriya sounded atmost worried

"Don't worry! I'm fine.
just my hand is hurt. i don't know how."

"Then how come you are sitting down on floor? I thought you slipped "

"shut up you devil
I just couldn't bear the wrist pain
So. just. like . that" Aaradhya made a puppy face and Kriya bursted out laughing

"Show me" she took aaradhya's hand only to make her scream once again.
the little Kriya helped aaradhya to stand, walk and made her sit on the bed safely
after which she ran towards the phone and dialled Aryan's number
she tried a numerous times but he never responded

"Aryan bhai is not attending the phone
what to do now?" Kriya asked aaradhya
"Who asked you to call him?" came the question quickly
" Why? " Kriya was confused
"I mean whats the need of annoying aryan when we can call up the doctor ourselves.
get me my phone and dial that number saved as Doctor" Aaradhya struggled a bit at first but made it convincing to Kriya
*****
"Its just a sprain don't worry.
a momentary loss of balance is all it takes.
I've wrapped and bandaged it , try not to move your hand as much as possible" the doctor said packing his stuff

"but doctor! We're alone here.
I mean no one is here to help me with the households" Aaradhya interrupted

" afterall wife is carrying, so let your husband get a chance to look after you & pamper you" the doctor smiled at her and winked at Kriya as a lovely gesture

******
the day went by. night went on darkening.
moon was nowhere visible
aaradhya sat there by the window side looking at the sky with a scattered cluster of stars.

"It's 9 di I'm already feeling sleepy
Where is this Aryan bro?" Kriya who was utterly bored playing the same video game again and again ,came running towards aaradhya

"You go! I'll leave you home
Come." Aaradhya took Kriya's hand.
and when they were about to step out of the house Aryan appeared there from nowhere.

"Oh madam is still here!
my day was tooo good as you said in the morning, remember baby?
but who cares right?
Aryan's days were all toooooooo good since his birth "
Kriya stood there trembling and started hiding onto aaradhya's back seeing aryan like that

"STOP IT!" Aaradhya got frustrated and nervous seeing Kriya getting frightened by Aryan's behaviour.

"Drink only if you have the potential to remain stable after the drug getting into your head.
don't behave like a maniac.
you're frightening a little child , if you are even in your conscious mind?!
Get in and dumb yourself somewhere" she pushed him aside and left the place before Aryan could say anything in response
*****
"So let's continue it." Aaradhya who was about to enter the room was all frightened hearing his sound from the deep darkness prevailing there.
she wandered her only free hand here and there on the wall in search of the switches to put on the light.
but she miserably failed
and he came close to her within fraction of seconds.
as close as she could feel his breathe on her face at the moment.
he intertwined his fingers into hers and forcefully pulled her hand which she pulled back simultaneously
she gave up as she started feeling the pain on her other hand
his hands guided hers and searched for the switches
she was dumbstruck and just continued to stare at him , all sweating in that darkness.
their hands finally reached the switch and the lights glowed making her eyes blink in the glare
he stared at her sweating form this time and blowed up her hair strands that fell onto her face

"Why you're silent now?
like you're not frightened?
i'm not drunk?" he broke the silence between them

"i'm used with darkness and maniacs lately, but not that child.
what was the need to show your madness to a kid like that?" she never shouted. she was never angry . because she know calmness can only win it.

" you donno why? because i'm wrong like always" he laughed
he slipped onto the bed and continued on smiling

" what even? " Aaradhya's mouth formed a perfect O

he occupied the lion share of the bed and she couldn't even move him
she sat down, rested her chin by the side of the bed and stared at him who was always quick when it comes to falling asleep.
and he started speaking when her eyelids started drooping.
she smiled seeing him talk in sleep

"No mom! look i'm all grown up
I can walk by myself" he giggled
"MOM?" a lone tear escaped her eyes
