It was a sunny day in Devon, perfect weather for a little paddle. The grass hills looked like a picture, the sky was blue, the clouds were crisp white, and the wind was nonexistent. This wasn't a common day here though, the people of Devon weren't used to such luxurious weather, they usually have wind, rain, and no sun.

Two children were stood on a grass bank, one was a young boy, and the other was a young girl. They looked as though they were having a disagreement.

"Come with me Tommo, we can go to the river later." The young girl tried to make a deal with the young boy. The young boy wasn't looking impressed though.

"Why not now?" He asked.

"Because we need to go and get our sister!"

The little boy pouted and stayed where he stood.

"I will leave you." She threatened.

The little boy crossed his arms and stomped.

"Goodbye brother mine." The young girl turned and walked away. She didn't look back. The little boy stood and watched her get further and further away. He soon realised that she wasn't going to come back.

"Florrie, Florrie!" He shouted. He came bumbling down the grass hill, nearly falling over himself. "Wait, wait!" The young girl stopped and turned around to catch Tom in her arms.

"See, I would have left you!" She picked him up off the floor and gave him a kiss. "Pirates do as they are told."

"Pirates don't have rules." He exclaimed. Florrie gave him a little pout before she spoke again. She started to walk down the grass hill again.

"Yes they do! How else would they work as a team?" Tom tilted his head and looked at Florrie. He then shrugged his shoulders.

"Pirate Redbeard doesn't like rules." He smirked, as though he had just found the answer to this problem.

"Well, Pirate Florrie likes rules."

"I'm the captain of this ship!" Tom said. He leaned his head on her shoulder. He closed his eyes as they left the field.

"My apologies Captain!" Florrie smiled. She moved him back onto her hip.

They now walked through a little village, there weren't many cars, or people about. Many of the shops were open, but only the local people were in them. Florrie and Tom waved to a few friends of the family before they walked up a dirty old lane.

Tom started to play with Florrie's pony tail, running his little hands through it. He smiled as she winced slightly as he pulled a bit by accident. As they walked up the lane they heard an unusual sound. It was like someone weeping repeatedly. Though they were alone, Tom sat up and looked over the hedge into a nearby field. He saw something appearing.

He patted his sister on the shoulder so she could look.

"What Tom?" She asked.

"Look!" He pointed through the hedge. She walked closer to it and peaked through.

A blue box appeared in the middle of the field. They stood in awe, nothing but horses should be in that field.

And that did not look like a horse.

Tom and Florrie looked at each other before they turned their attention back to the box. The door swung open and a tall brown haired man stepped out, a young blonde girl soon followed. The door closed, but it burst open again, and another brown haired man stepped out. The two men were in long coats, but the girl had a leather jacket on. The three strangers looked around the field before they decided to speak.

"Not where I thought we'd be..." The man in a brown coat said.

"Not so great now Doctor." The girl smirked.

"Ha, he is always like this. Everywhere we land is like rolling a dice for a map reference." The other man added.

"Hey, I understand you both wanted an alien planet, but don't get cocky ok? Or I'll take you both home." The man that was referred to as The Doctor replied.

"Where are we then?" The girl asked.

"Earth, two thousand and seventeen I think. March the...." He paused and picked a piece of grass and ate it. "Sixth to be precise."

"Amazing, you have a time machine, but ninety percent of the places we travel are in the present day, or near future. It also travels in space ya know?" The other man smiled.

"Shall I take you back to Cardiff Jack, or is Devon alright?"

Jack looked at The Doctor and pouted. The young woman smiled as she watched them both.

"Do you like it Martha?" The Doctor asked.

"Devon is beautiful." She replied. "But I don't think aliens are here. We're in a field, in the middle of nowhere."

"Why don't we find someone? Go to the nearest pub and have a drink?" Jack suggested.

"I think someone has already found us." The Doctor smiled as he pointed to where Florrie and Tom we looking though the hedge. Martha and Jack turned to look as the two children. They gave a little wave.

Tom and Florrie's eyes widened and they looked at each other, before making the same choice, they backed away from the hedge and ran straight up the lane. The strangers didn't follow straight away, but they did watch them run away.

"Well that's polite." The Doctor said quietly.

"They were adorable!" Martha exclaimed.

"They were." Jack agreed.

"Shall we go after them?" Martha asked.

"No! They're children, I expect we've shocked them enough. We'll go and find someone else in a second." The Doctor walked back to the blue box and locked the door.

"Well Martha, I guess we do as The Doctor says then." Jack mumbled.

"As usual then." Martha smiled.

The three of them started to walk to the hedge where the children were stood. Jack and Martha started to talk about something irrelevant, but The Doctor walked ahead. He was looking at everything, taking everything in.
