So a quick A/n, this is part two if the lighthearted chapter. I wanted to put this warning at the beginning so you would be aware the next chapter delves into the darker side of the story again. Now this is something I've noticed. Albeit it was a unintentional thing. The nurse I added to my story has taken on a life of her own. The only problem is tha- "Hey get to the point already." Yes you damn nurse I'm getting there. The problem is I don't have a name for her so I'm gona be taking suggestions as to a name. I do have some ideas but I figured asking would be cool. I plan to do a A/n covering some things I plan to do with this story sometime after that the darker chapters.
Angela hesitantly got out of the car with Reinhardt's help as she kept thinking over everything that could go wrong. "Don't worry about your bags, I'll bring them in." Rein smiled at her as he quickly shut the truck to walk around to the bed to grab their bags. This left Angela by herself as Anthony's mom walked down the steps towards her, a warm smile on her face as she hugged Angela in greeting.
"It's good to see you Angie." His mom said, using the nickname she chose for her as she did for everyone, before leading her up the steps. "You must be tired dear. Long flights are never fun, I would know. Now come inside." Angela allowed her to guide her up and the steps and into the lodge. "Thank you for the hospitality Mrs.Hawke it's always good to be welcomed." Angela responded. "Rachel. Call me Rachel, no need to be so formal." She teased as they entered the living room. "Go ahead and take a seat."
Angela ended up sitting in a large recliner as Rein came through the doors carrying all of the bags. "Angela I'm gona put your bag in the spare room." He announced before taking it and disappearing down a hallway. Rachel, who had wondered into the kitchen by this time, called out to Angela asking if she wanted some wine to which Angela said yes.
After 5 minutes Rachel came back with two wine glasses and the bottle. "Here you go Angie." She said as she handed the second glass to Angela then filled it. "There you go Angie." Rachel said. "Danke." Angela responded with a tired smile as she slowly started to look around the room noticing all the pictures on the walls and mantle. "You sure have alot if pictures." She finally stated as she saw a pair of pictures in the center of the mantle over the fireplace.
"Is that his father?" Angela asked as she got up to look closer at one of the pictures. "Yes. It is. It was taken just before his last deployment. The one that he didn't return from." Rachel admitted as she sighed sadly. The image Angela examined had a fairly tall, well built, man in the standard dress uniform if the United States armed forces as he smiled at the camera.
"Wait. Is. Is that Anthony next to him?" Angela questioned as she saw the little boy with a mess of brown hair and grey eyes hugging the uniformed soldier's leg.
"Yeah. He didn't want his dad to leave." Rachel acknowledged as she got up to join her st the picture. "He's so cute." Angela giggled as she smiled for the first time in a long time. After a few moments of looking at the picture she turned to the second one which showed the same kid only now he was a man, although he was in the same uniform as his father. "He looked so much like his father."
The picture must of been shortly after he had turned 18. The uniform fit his tall frame as he stood at attention while accepting a medal for something or other. His hair was shorter but he had a beret on. His rank pins were immediately noticeable on his collars.
