"This is actually so stupid." You huffed, pulling your arms round your body.
"Come on, it'll be fun!" (F/N) Encouraged. "You don't get out enough!"
"Umm I so do thank you very much!" You laughed, feeling your anxiety fade away.
"Come on, let's set up your account then.." Your friend pondered, fiddling with your phone.
As usual, you were sitting at your favourite table in Starbucks, the light streaming in from the windows, making your pale skin almost shine. You were wearing a simple plaid shirt with leggings and heavy army style boots. Not quite fashionable but you still looked good.
"Hmmm... what should your account be called?" (F/N) called, interrupting your daydreaming.
"Uhh.. Maybe like plaidgirl or something sad like that?" You said, smiling.
"Well, I think that we should just go with your name and then a xox or something..." She corrected.
"Oh, okay then!" You grinned. "I'm pretty new to this whole dating thing, don't judge!"
"(Y/N), you're 25. Start living your life sweetheart!"
"Hmmm" You grumbled.
"Well, there you go." (F/N) said. "Get ready to get laid!"
"(F/N)!!" You gasped, shocked. "The whole of Starbucks must've heard that!"
"Oops!" She said cheekily.
You started scrolling through the app as you took a sip of your mocha frappe.
"Wow, these men are actually pretty hot!" You remarked, setting your cup down.
"Well duh! I told you this site was good." Your friend boasted. "Be careful, some of these men are right pervs and want you to call them Daddy and stuff so just ignore them if they text you."
"Duly noted." You replied. Your profile picture was a rather simple selfie of you in comfortable clothes at a friend's house. You knew that it wasn't going to attract that many men but you never know.
"Hey honey," (F/N) said hurriedly, "Umm I'm kinda late for work and Linda's gonna be really mad if she has to cover for me again..." she said, getting out of her seat and pushing it back in. You exchanged a few hugs and then she was on her way. You took one last sip of your frappe (Ooh frappe...) and dropped it in the bin on your way out.~Time skip~
Back at home, you curled up on your comfy couch as you started to look a at some of these men. "Eww" you said out loud, unable to control your mouth. This guy's profile picture was of him holding a chicken! Definitely no. You thought to yourself. You put down your phone and picked up your tablet to check YouTube. Markiplier had posted a new video! A new try not to laugh video. You clicked on play and sat back to relax for a while.
After the video, you tried again with the internet dating app. You came across this account, flannelman123 and clicked on it to see more. This picture of a kindly looking man about her age popped up. He had black hair with, what was that? A streak of red hair on top and, yes you guessed it! A red flannel on! Hmmm... he looks okay... You think to yourself. The picture is out of focus so you couldn't really him but you like what you see. You followed him and liked a picture on his profile before dropping your phone on the table next to the couch and going to make yourself a nice coffee.
(If you don't like coffee then sorry but in this, you love it ;)
Returning to the sofa armed with a cup of hot sweet coffee, you open your phone to find that the smiley man from the dating app has sent you a text.
Flannelman123: Hi :)
Wow, he acts quickly! (Y/N) thought. Just to be careful, she sent him a text just to make sure he wasn't dodgy like (F/N) said some of the men were.
(Y/N): Are you going to make me call you daddy?
You texted, regretting sending it as soon as you did. The little 'read' pop up popped up but no reply. Oh jeez... You thought. I've messed it up again! You typed frantically, trying to fix your mistake.
(Y/N): Umm I'm really sorry about that. I didn't mean to offend you if you're offended...
Again, the pop up came up, saying that he had read the text and a few seconds later a text came through.
Flannelman123: Oh my god! I didn't text back cause I was laughing too hard! I understand your concern though. I'm not going to make you call me Daddy. You can just call me Grandad ;)
Flannelman123: My real name's Mark by the way. :)
(Y/N) cracked a smile. He was cute and funny too! Definitely worth meeting. You texted him asking if he wanted to meet for coffee sometime and he replied straight away accepting. Maybe this app was worthwhile... You thought...
You walk to your plain, white bedroom. Wow, I really have to do some decorating! You think, slipping on your markiplier pyjamas and grabbing a book to take and read in bed. You opened the wrinkled copy of Wuthering Heights and flipped it open to the last page you read at. You sighed and started reading. Wait, you noticed a message pencilled in in the margin, 'I will always find you. Give me a call.' And after that, some numbers. You dropped the book and recoiled from it just like it was a snake.
"Justin?" You gasped, "How did he write that??"Sorry guys, I know this chapter is really short but it was my first one and I'm not going to write any more, considering it's 2 o'clock in the morning ;)
