Only a few minutes passed before Marinette was awoken when a whistle had sounded. She groggily looked out the window to see students saying their last goodbyes to family before hurriedly boarding the train. A few jolts and a couple strange noise from the train later, and platform of nine and three quarters started to slowly become smaller and smaller the further the train moved forward, until completely disappearing when the train had turned a corner.
Within a few seconds after the train had started moving, there came a knock at her compartment door, and she called for whoever it was to come in.
The door slid open with little hesitation, and there stood a brunette with subtle lighter shades of brown added at the ends. She wore slightly large, black glasses that framed her hazel eyes, her black Hogwarts robe draped just past the knees, black slacks visible underneath. She smiled warmly at the bluenette before speaking.
"Hey, Im Alya! Mind if I join you here?"
"Oh, no, not at all!" Marinette gave a small smile, as she patted at the velvet seat beside her. Alya walked inside, taking a seat beside Marinette next to the door. "Im Marinette," She introduced herself and they exchanged smiles once more, before quickly going off into small talk.
After a small while, when a silence had fallen between the two, Marinette looked out the window to give her mind something to be distracted with before she had time to realise that the silence had become slightly awkward. It had started getting dark outside, not exactly close to night though, but it seemed to have fallen more just before dusk, dyeing the sky a pomegranate pink. Although bits of little things from nature, whether it be grass, bark from a tree or whatever, repeatedly flew into the window, making little annoying tapping sounds against it, slightly disturbing the somewhat nice view. The rest of the scenery was nothing more than just a blur of colours though; mostly green and browns all mixed together due to the speed of the train, nothing much interesting really.
Only when a knock was sounded once again at the compartment door, had Marinette finally looked away from the mesmerising view, and instead it being replaced by two boys; one a blond with bright green eyes, and the other; another brunet, with brown eyes and a red cap covering the most of his hair.
"Uh, hi. These seats wouldnt happen to be taken right?" The blond asked, signalling to the seats across from the two girls.
"The people we were with in the other compartment were rude," the other said, crossing his arms over his chest.
Marinette and Alya looked over at each other for a split second, before inviting the two newcomers inside. A small black cat strutted behind the two boys –rather proudly, as they walked in
"I'm Nino, and this is Adrien by the way," Nino pointed over to his friend besides him, who had smiled and waved in response.
"My names Alya," She was the first to reply, as she introduced herself.
"Marinette," Marinette gave a simple response, kindly, and the two boys nodded, both smiling.
When no one else talked, Adrien scooped up the black cat, who had decided to start snooping around his luggage that was on the floor at the moment, "This is Plagg," he stated, holding Plagg up in the air like a trophy. Plagg kind of sagged in Adriens arms, attempting to break free from his grasp. "He likes cheese, surprisingly. Its all hell ever eat," The blond sighed and shrugged as he released Plagg back onto the floor when he was becoming too much of a trouble to hold, leaving him to return to checking out his owners luggage once again, sniffing and attempting to scratch at it as the others laughed a little at the cats behaviour.
More unwanted silence invaded the compartment, as thoughts struggled to pass by the childrens heads in order to start up a compatible conversation, until;
