Chapter 1:

"Dude, just go over there and talk to her after class" Jay pushed

"No, it's not that simple" I told him, shrugging

"Then, stop looking at her. You're making her uncomfortable" he whispered

I snapped out of my daze and looked at jay for a split second, then looked back at the vivacious beauty sitting on the other side of the classroom. For a brief moment, her grey eyes connected to mine, but sadly she looked away, focusing her attention to the front of the class.

"You like her, don't you?" Jay whispered

"Is it that noticeable?" I asked

"Well... You've gotten quiet lately, you look at her every chance you get, oh and apparently grey is your favorite color, the color of her eyes. So, no it's not noticeable." He sarcastically replied

"I can't help it, she's the most beautiful women I have ever seen. Her charming eyes, crystal blue with a shadow of grey, her cute button nose and her full, succulent lips. I'm intrigued by her." I lazily said

"Emerson, half of her face is cover by that head scarf and you don't even now her"

I rolled my eyes," I-" I began to say something, but a gruff voice cut me off

"Emerson, Jayden! Do you have something to share with the class"

"No sir " We both replied at the same time

"Then, be quiet!"

After 25 minutes of hell, the bell finally rang. I gathered my stuff and started to follow the mysterious girl. I started to speed walk through the swarm of people, pushing and shoving everyone to get out of my way. I was just about to get out of the room, when I saw a small, black composition notebook placed where she was sitting. I went over there, grabbed the notebook and looked to see of there was the name of the owner. I opened it and it read Khalila Abdul. Khalila Abdul, such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. Then, out of nowhere, something struck my head, I realized I was wasting time just by standing here, so I made a dash for it.

I just made it out of my classroom, when I saw her turning the corner. I followed closely behind, trying not to make a sound. I saw her cross the street and walk into Starbucks, a place I'm too familiar with. I tried to cross the street, but the green light changed into red... great. I started to tap my foot, feeling anxious. All I need is to talk to her and give her back her notebook...and probably get her number, if I'm lucky.

"Hi Em!" A voice screeched

I turned around, only to see Rose standing next to me with a huge grin her face

"Hi Rose" I say, grimly

I don't have anything against Rose, it's just that she's a pest. Since I'm the quarterback of Cortland college, I have a "fan club" and with a "fan club" comes with annoying girls, following me around all day.

"So listen, we have a party tonight at the sorority and I would really love it if you showed up"

"I would love to, but-"

In the corner of my eye, I saw Khalila coming out of Starbucks with a drink in her hand. I went to cross the street, but a hand grabbed my arm.

"Em?"

"I have to go Rose" I quickly said and crossed the street, looking both ways

I started to run, trying to catch up to her.

"Wait!" I shouted

She stopped, but didn't turn around. I started to slow down once I caught up to her.
