jacob was nervous.

maybe it was because he had a secret or two. stuff he hadn't told troye.

jacob was never good at keeping secrets.

he walked up to troye's front door and he knocked, a few seconds later, troye opened it. he looked cute that day. but there was something off about him.

"come in," troye said.

"thanks,"

they went to the dining room and sat down. troye had his head in his hands. he seemed upset.

"you good, kid?" jacob asked, with concern in his eyes.

"i'm okay," troye replied.

jacob didn't believe him. but they got to work anyways.

troye wasn't really paying attention to anything.

"are you sure you're okay?" jacob asked after a few minutes.

"no," troye said bluntly. he put his head in his hands as he started to cry.

jacob put down his pen and scooted his chair closer to troye, and started rubbing his upper back with his right hand to help him calm down.

"what's wrong?" jacob asked.

"i don't know," troye hiccuped. "i'm just so confused."

"about what?" jacob asked, continuing to rub troye's back.

"i don't know. everything?" troye said. "i just... i'm scared."

jacob knew what troye was talking about. he knew. he'd been there when he was troye's age. it was rough.

"it'll be okay. it will," jacob said.

troye looked up at jacob, his eyes were full of tears, but bluer than ever. jacob's heart skipped a beat.

"jacob?" troye asked.

"yeah, kid?"

"can you kiss me?" troye asked.

"troye... i-" troye cut jacob off.

"please?"

jacob knew this would clear some of troye's confusion.

"okay," jacob said.

he grabbed troye's chin and lifted his head up. he gently pressed their lips together.

troye reached up and put his hand on the back of jacob's neck. the kiss tasted like sweet mint. they both couldn't get enough.

"wait," jacob said, breaking the kiss. "this isn't right."

"what?" troye said, confused.

"you have a girlfriend, and i have a boyfriend." jacob said.

troye looked at him, confused.

"gotta go," jacob said picking up his bag. "bye."
