In just split-second, the objects and beings around him froze at place and appeared motionless in his eyes. Jungkook was the only one who remained unfrozen when he suspended the time for a while.

He heaved a sigh of relief when he finally got the silence that he's yearning for since the morning he had awoken by the discordant outcry and early bickerings of his hyungs about some things that were not worth listening for.

He peacefully walked down the now quiet alley of Seoul with his hands tucked inside his pockets. The time was still frozen and he's the only one who's moving around. He tugged his head behind his sweater's hood, as if someone would see his face as he walked by. He looked down on his feet and didn't bother to look at the peddlers, walkers, shoppers, and passersby's faces and figures around.

He sometimes choose to be alone, as silence gives him inner peace. However, silence also brings an odd feeling of sadness to his soul.

The deafening silence of the city made him reminisce fragments of his past.
                   
                      
Ten years ago, his immediate family was ruthlessly murdered inside their own house. His parents and his older brother's cruel death remained unsolve (up to this day), and the perpetrator of that crime remains a "John Doe".

Relatively, after the death of Jungkook's immediate family, his aunt and her husband took full custody of him, taking control of all the wealth that was transferred under his name. His grandmother pleaded justice along with him, and she filed to conduct a thorough investigation regarding the death of the three members of their family. But, due to lack of evidence, strained resources, and ineffective investigation, justice is elusive to them. For that reason, the Jeon massacre case became cold.

Mrs. Jeon just had breathed her last - not earning the justice they're seeking for.

Ill-fated was an understatement for all the hapless events Jungkook had been through. After his grandmother's death, his life became more miserable.  For his eight years of stay in his aunt's house, there's just few days and times that he was not beaten by his aunt's husband. His uncle was a gambling boozer while his aunt was a gambler. Both of his "legal guardians"  spent his money for their vices. And on a one peaceful night (Jungkook thought it was), his uncle came home with a grim aura, indicating that he just lost all his money on gambling. Even though the young man did not do anything wrong, his uncle still battered him. And by that very moment, he knew that if he will not use his hidden ability, he would die. Unfortunately, Jungkook's uncle saw how he suddenly disappeared in a blink. Of course he got terrified. But, shortly after seeing the blood on his knuckles, he knew he did not punch a ghost, and it made him realize that the younger may have a supernatural ability, but he wasn't entirely sure of his exact power. The boozer then came up with an evil scheme to lure the lad back to their home and use his ability to satisfy his own worldly needs. The young and foolish Jungkook took the bait, as he had no idea about what the man was up to. He knew, at that moment, that he should follow his uncle's commands, so he would not kill his aunt (which he believed that the older was capable of). His merciless uncle made him use his ability to rob alcohols and other goods from the supermarket. However, the wants of a man are endless, it grows bigger and bigger instead.
