"Mom!" Veronica said, "Why do we need to move?" Veronica's mother chuckled and walked towards her whiny daughter. My mothers arms felt strong around me.
"Well Veronica," she began, "life has many challenges, and well these challenges are just to much for me." She put her bony fingers through my long brown hair.
"Baby you just need to understand that I've had enough of this place," she took a deep breath. "You know this Veronica, we've been moving to different towns every ten years." Yes I knew it I knew it too well. It seems like just when we finally make a place feel like home it gets ripped away. I knew I was different from all the other kids at school, I knew I had to keep my distance or make them want to be afraid of me. I knew what I was, I am a monster, the living dead. I looked up at my mothers eyes, people knew we were different they could sense it. If they were smart enough they would stay away.
I always felt like something was missing in my life, it's been over two hundred and fifty years since I became this monster, who knew I would have found what I've always craved most in this life; love.
