Chapters: 1/?

Hey, it's Dax. My first Voltron fic on here, and with a character that I don't even have a thing for. I made this because I wanted to make one for my friend who likes Lance, and I came up with a pretty good plot I think, so yeah, this was born. Dedicated to my friend first, but to all you little Lance lovers of the Voltron fandom out there. Hope you like the starting chapter to this, and tell me things you like or would fix. I'm really tired and was starting to fall asleep toward the end so that last little bit may seem a bit rushed, or less complex than the rest, OR it may all be off, IDFK. I hope you liiiike iiiit~
(BTW my real love, Keith, is to be coming after this multiple-chapter marathon is done with, so look forward to that if he is also your bae.)

Setting is before the time period that Zarkon started with the intense, constant tracking of Voltron, and during the time that they went around helping people sending distress signals from various planets.

3rd person viewpoint, the reader is human.

Chapter One; SO. MUCH. FLIRTING.

"How else am I supposed to spend the time on this ship?" Hunk called out. Pidge had once again yelled at him for trying to poke her stuff. "Go...bake or something! I don't know! Just don't touch! You could mess with the fragile workings of the system that I configured and only I know how to use." Hunk slumped.
"I already baked a lot today and I'm bored. I need a different activity to do."
Keith called from the other seating area adjacent to the yellow paladin. "You spent 7 minutes, messed up, got flustered, and marched in here to where you are now," voice full of sass, even though he thought nothing wrong with his words.
"You know WHAT KEITH!" Hunk pouted angrily. "I TRIED. SO THERE." After his huffy fit cooled, he attempted conversation with Lance, who was on the couch beside him, flopped on his stomach, left arm hanging down, resting his head on his chin, showing an unexcited face.
"Yo, Lance, you bored too?" Hunk inquired, seeing him stare vacantly into space. All he could do was sigh. "Yeah." Everyone looked at him as he laid there. One collective breath of boredom seemed to be taken and released as all upon the ship just sat there. Waiting. Sitting. In the silence. No action. Shiro, on the other side of the room, had half a mind to tell them all a suggestion of how to pass the time easier, but before he had the chance to do so, Allura's expression changed and she called them over from the far end of the main room.
"Paladins! I found a call from a planet near us asking for help! A message was transmitted to my controls here. It's in your language." The room's energy suddenly rose by 50% as they all raised their heads. Nearing the controls and the princess in an intrigued cluster, they all craned their necks to see what she was talking about. She read it aloud for them: "If anyone can read this, or understand this, and can help, I am in trouble, stuck on a planet unfamiliar to me and uninhabited. Been stranded for a few days after rocket crashed. Not a hostile being. Please assist if at all possible." She halted. "Well, finally, something better to do than sit around and watch the ticks go by," Keith pointed out. Allura nodded. "That's true. You all know what this means. Go to your lions, and I'll get us in closer."

With that, they left, on their way to their docking areas. Swinging in and dropping into their lions, space gear now on, they activated their helmet's communication systems and called to each other to let them know they were ready. Shiro spoke directly to Allura after checking for everyone's preparation. "Allura, we're ready to deploy. We in close enough?" There was a slight pause, then her voice came through the audio pieces. "Ummmm.....Yes. Okay, now you're a go. I'll be up here if you need anything or have any news. Good luck, Paladins." All pilots gave a small nod to her words, and sped away towards the golden planet. Hunk, like before, checked with the rest, "We did all just nod, right?" Lance gave a priceless face of disbelief. "YES, Hunk; you don't have to check every time," he reiterated, his eyes looking almost like horizontal lines, eyebrows parallel. "O-KAY, okay, geez," he mumbled, as they landed on the ground. The sight before them was certainly one that looked like it needed their help.
A large rocket ship was on the crusty outer layer of the planet, broken up completely beyond repair. Pidge leaned forward to see it better. "They must've crash-landed really hard," she said, awe along with sorrow coating her voice. Multiple pools of dried blood could be seen around the cracks in the ship, with dried streamlines of the same thing tracing them. A collective shudder could be felt. They all stepped out from the jaws of their lions, eyes still fixed on the large wreckage before them. "How many people do you think survived this?" Lance said, with his eyes wide. "Can't say," Keith answered. Lance turned his head slightly. "Did I ask YOU?"
"Guys," Shiro said, glancing semi-sternly to the both of them as they exchanged bothered glares. "Not the time." He headed the team further in towards the dilapidated space craft and looked around. "Is anyone around? ......We're the paladins of Voltron. We came here because we picked up your distress signal. ........ Anyone???" They all looked around in the area. Soon, they heard quick, light pounding coming their way from inside the ship, getting closer and closer, making their grips on their bayards tighten a bit. Once it got very close, they heard and saw a sideways metal door being opened to reveal a girl around their age, human looking, rushing out.
