Another day in his life. It was Friday. This time, he cried all night and now his eyes were swollen. He lamented how meaningless life is to himself. Some guy on the hallway overheard him and said to him, "Don't be ridiculous, there will always be a meaning to life."
But that guy should have looked in Julius' perspective. With an introversial life, and the constant ostracizing by his peers, there is certainly no meaning to life. But if you are a popular kid with lots of friends, then life may be somehow meaningful. Julius tried to listen to the popular songs. After 1 minute and 17 seconds, he stopped the song. He dislikes those cheerful songs. He calls it childish.
It was a typical day in school. After the last period, which is Physics class, Julius went straight home. He sees the other people going to the mall for lunch, and thought, "Waste of money." When he reached home, he sees Grandma Chen, who came to Singapore to visit Julius and his family.
"Grandma Chen!" Julius grinned. He had never been that happy for a long time.
"Julius! How have you been?" Grandma Chen walked over and hugged Julius. Apparently Julius had been the apple of Grandma Chen's eye. She was the closest person to Julius. Grandma Chen and Julius walked to the balcony, while talking to the nines.
"Dear grandson, how have you been?"
"I'm fine, Grandma." Julius kinda lied.
"No, you're lying. You don't look well when you walked in through the door."
"Well, the truth is... I often felt neglected by my family and friends. Like, no one ever talks to me."
"But Grandma Chen could lend you a listening ear!"
After spending time with Grandma Chen, Julius' mood eventually changed. He finally found someone whom he could share things with. He went back into his bedroom, to take out his study materials for his upcoming tests. He blatantly stared at his red penknife again. He then tried to get rid of the suicidal thoughts on his mind. I guess I finally found the meaning to life, Julius thought to himself. Then he looked at the vandalism on the wall. I must be stupid to think of self-harming! He pondered. He went to the storeroom to get a can of white paint. He then painted over the vandalism. His life, is changing for the better.
Author's Note: I have released 2 chapters on 1 day. :P I hope you like it!
