Hi! It's your lovely author! I decided to write two stories at once! Woo! 😂😂 I got this idea while I was zoned out in science class today. I have BIG plans for this book! So I may be updating this one more but I will update Between Us too. Anyway, time to stop rambling. Enjoy!

Prologue

Makenzie is the 16 year old daughter of Crystal and Chance Morgan, she is an only child but she isn't a brat (I'm an only child) she has to work for what she gets by doing chores because her dad works at a failing company and her mom is a full time waitress. So she spends alot of time alone. She takes online high-school courses since she was bullied very bad in school, they struggle to pay for it. They are moving into a very old two story house, pretty far from where they once lived, so Mak is gonna have to look for a new job.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm sleeping soundly in the back of our car when I feel a hand on my shoulder shaking me and I groan and turn my head away. Who is waking me up???
"Mak. Mak wake up, we're at our new house!" I hear my mom say excitedly and I sit up slowly and open my eyes as the light blinds me and look at her and I look at the old house and I smile.
"C'mon, come pick out your room." She says with a bright smile and I get outside and stretch with my back popping and arms spread out wide in the evening light and I run to the door as I hear my mom's giggles at my childish behavior.
I run inside and smell the dampness and feel the moist air of the old house and I walk around and listen to the floors squeak at every step I take. I finally find the staircase and I walk up slowly with my hand gliding on the rail. I'm gonna slide down this thing one day.
I get upstairs and there is 2 rooms, a bedroom and a bathroom. I can have this floor all to myself! I walk in the bedroom and smile to myself as I feel a cool breeze and get chill bumps on my arms and running up my spine causing me to shiver. It's a bit drafty but I can get used to it. I love old houses, they have so much character and charm. It'd be so cool if there was like a secret tunnel or something.
My thoughts are broken as I hear my mom yelling at the staircase, "Mak! Have you found your room?" I run to the stairs and I slide down the railing and I look at her and smile, "Yes I did." I say.
She smiles and holds out her hand and says, "Give me the grand tour." I chuckle and take her hand, "I'd be delighted." She smiles and I lead her upstairs and show her my room and I tell her where all my stuff is going to go. I am a very organized person, I believe everything has its place. I can already picture where everything is supposed to go.
"That sounds wonderful!" My mom says happily and I beam at her. I'm so happy because she's so happy. I hear my dad shuffling around downstairs and him yelling, "It'd be nice to have some help with these boxes!" I laugh and run downstairs, "Your help has arrived!" I say and he chuckles and kisses my forehead. "You like it Princess?" He asks. I smile widely and nod, "I love it."
Joseph's Point of View
As I am sitting on the window sill of my room watching the world go by outside, I run my hand through my thick hair. I open the window and feel the coolness on my hands from the metal but it's not as icy as my hands. I smell the fresh air of the evening and look at the blue spotted sky when I see a car and a moving van pull up to my house. This should be interesting.
I stand up and close the window and watch them through the glass. I see a mid age woman get out of the car and open the back seat, I think she is trying to get something. Turns out that something is a someone when I see a teenage girl who looks about my age get out of the car. She's a very pretty girl and I study her features as she stretches, which makes me smile. The girl runs to the door and runs inside and I hear her feet squeaking on the floor downstairs, it's been a long time since I heard that. I walk to the stairs and watch every move she makes and study her as she walks. I see her start walking upstairs and I scoot out of the way so she won't walk through me. As she is walking past me I touch her hair with out her noticing and I follow her into my room.
I listen to her and her mother and father talk and then I see her come in from outside with a huge box. I want to help her with it but I probably shouldn't. She starts walking up the stairs struggling with the box so I use my powers to lift the box up a little. She gets to my room and puts the box in there and then sits down on it out of breath and I smile a little.
Makenzie's Point of View
I get up of the box and pull out my phone. It's a bit too quiet since I'm used to a noisy city so I start playing Britney Spears's song Criminal and dancing around and singing to it as I unpack. I love singing, it's my passion. If I could, I'd be a singer when I get older but I don't want to disappoint my parents. When I talk about it they always change the subject, they say I'm a great singer but I should get a better job. But to me, singing would be the best job in the world, it wouldn't even be a job.
"And he's got my name, tattooed on his arm his lucky charm."
"But I guess it's ok, he's with me." I sing and put things on my nightstand.
I finally finish unpacking and I sing even louder to my music when I turn around and my body freezes and I feel cold. I look at him in shock and fear as I back up into the wall. I want to scream but I open my mouth and no sound or air comes out. I'm petrified.
He looks at me and the smile wipes off his lips as he sees the fear in my eyes and his eyes soften as he walks closer to me. My body tenses up and I try to speak but no words escape my lips as I peirce them together tightly.
He opens his mouth to speak but then closes it and looks down. I can see the sadness on his face and I frown slightly. I don't like seeing people upset.
He starts fading away and I speak up and say, "Wait! Who are you?"
