~Chapter 9~ Paaartaaaay

After our shifts are over, I use Katie's phone to call my mom.

"Hello?"

"Hey mom, I'm gonna stay the night with my friend Katie from work."

"Makenzie, I dunno how I feel about this. I've never met this girl. Be home by eleven."

I roll my eyes and say before hanging up, "I'll be home by twelve." Even though I'm not going home. I hand the phone back to Katie.

She looks at me with a little smirk on her lips, "Are you really going home at twelve?" She asks and I smile and shake my head and say, "Nope." Popping the p.
She laughs and says, "I knew I could turn you bad." I start laughing as we walk to her house to get ready.

When we get to her house, I'm in shock of how massive it is. "If you don't mind me asking, why do you have a job?" I ask and she laughs a little and says, "They stopped paying my phone bill because I kept going over my data and minutes." I laugh a little and we walk inside and to her room.

She walks in her walk in closet and I sit on her bed. I hear a gasp before I see her walking out, holding a red dress with a huge smile on her face. "This will look gorgeous on you!" She says.

"It's really short." I say bluntly.

"And?" She asks and I laugh. "C'mon Mak, it will look great with your figure and I'm gonna curl your hair." I sigh and give in and put on the dress. It's so tight, it feels like a second skin. Katie puts on a little black dress before doing my hair and makeup. "You look so smexy!" She squeals and I smile and say, "So do you!"

We start walking in the darkness to her friends house. I am soooo nervous, I hope she can't tell. She looks at me and says, "Your being quiet." I laugh a little and she says, "Are you nervous?" I nod and say, "A little."

"Don't worry, just let loose and have fun. The guys are gonna be aaalll over you." She says.

"Why?" I ask, confused. I'm nothing special.

"Because your the hot new girl!" She says excitedly.

I don't know how I feel about this. I really don't wanna mingle with other guys when one guy already has my heart. I can't even imagine talking to another guy like I talk to Joseph. The loud booming music of the house brakes my thoughts. "C'mon Mak, your thinking too much." Katie says before pulling me into the house. I've never seen this many people crammed into a house before. It smells like sweaty bodies and alcohol.

A guy walks up to Katie and smiles, "Hey Katie!" He says then he looks at me and his smile grows wider, "Who's this?"

"This is Mackenzie." She says as she looks at me, "Makenzie, this is Travis. You two should get to know each other." She says with a smile and a wink. We just got here and she's already setting me up! "I'll go get us some drinks." Travis says before disappearing into the crowd. Once he is gone I give her the 'really' look and she chuckles.
