"Maya, are you ok?!" is all I hear as I wake up. I don't recognise any voices, I don't recognise anything. I am confused, lost and I struggle to talk. I try and mumble "who are you" but it doesn't work. What is going on? Is what I think to myself as i look around. I see crying people who start to smile as they see my eyes open. I see a young boy holding flowers and a girl asleep with her head on the end of my bed. I take a deep breathe and say " Who are you? What happened?" Everyone starts to yell for a doctor saying "shes awake!" I am very confused at this point. I sit up slowly and move smoothly to sit up straight. It hurts a lot to move. I touch the girl at the end of my beds hand and she wakes up. She grips my hand and whispers "Maya, I love you, Are you ok?" I look around and realise I have many cords and wires attached to me and a machine which seemed to be tracking my heart rate. I can't remember this girl but I don't know why. I also see a women smiling with tears of joy it seems as she lifts her head from another mans shoulder. There was also another woman and man who were sitting behind the girl at the end of my bed. I start thinking to myself why cant I remember who these people are. Then a doctor came rushing in and doing all sorts of tests on my heart rate and breathing. I ask the doctor "What is going on?" and he just looks at me then the girl and the boy with flowers. The doctor then left with the 4 adults. In the hospital room, It is just the girl, the boy with flowers and me. The girl begins to explain. "Maya, I am your best friend Riley. This may be hard for you but you were in a serious car accident and you were left unconscious. You were missing from school the next day so me and this boy Farkle, your boyfriend, went searching for you and when we found you, We reported what happened and you were rushed here. It may take you a while to remember me but you do remember me, don't you?" she said. I am in shock and feel very sad. I sigh and say back "I don't remember you, Riley, I don't remember anything. I don't remember Farkle either or those other people." Riley and Farkle start to cry and I sit there in silence. A woman comes in and started stroking my head repeatedly saying "My beautiful daughter Maya, you are ok." It automatically occurred to me that she is saying she is my mother but why cant I remember. The doctor then walks in and tells me to drink some water and rest. He also brought me some custard to eat but I am too in shock to eat it. He tells me to eat it continuously. I open the tub of custard and tried to eat it. My hand is shaking uncontrollably and I try and place the spoon in my mouth. I struggle so Riley offers to help out. I try some more until I ask her to help me. She is talking to me about how worried she was while I was unconscious and how terrified she was that she might loose me. I start to think really hard about her and I.....
