Cocoa

Hey guys this is my first story here on wattpad so I'll try my best to make it as likeable as possible. I would appreciate it if you comment and vote on it so that I can improve my writing skills which means that constructive criticism is allowed.

Anyway. I hope you enjoy my first try of writing, on wattpad

Grace looked out of her window.

Tiny white snowflakes fluttered from the sky like glittering stars. The air coming from her nose created steam on the window and she drew a heart before it faded away. She smiled, this was Grace's favorite time of the year and her favorite season too because there is nothing more beautiful than seeing snowflakes and happy smiles of kids playing in the snow.

She wasn't normally allowed to head into the cold because she always caught a terrible cold, runny nose and all. But today it was her lucky day because she had to go and buy Christmas presents for her friends and family. She only hoped she won't catch a cold even though it was inevitable

Grace closed her blinds and walked over to her closet to go and pick some clothes to go Christmas shopping. She threw in the first thing she saw which was a blue skinny jean, a white tank top, a cute red sweater with a reindeer, furry boots, and a furry coat with mittens. She grabbed her phone and purse and headed out.

Downstairs, Grace saw her mother and father laying together and drinking hot cocoa. Jane and Jamie were lying on the plush rug coloring in their coloring books not even paying attention to anything else around them. She smiled, she wanted the kind of love her parents have not just with anyone though but she had a certain person in mind even though she knew it wouldn't happen. Not in a million years.

Her mother Faith saw what Grace was wearing and furrowed her brow, looking confused "Where are you going Gracie?" Immediately after she asked that her father Jacob paused the television to hear her response

"I'm going to for Christmas shopping mother" Grace answered, tugging on her coat "I'll be back soon I promise"

"Okay" Faith said and turned back to the silent television "Just be back home in four hours apparently the roads will be blocked by snow and cars won't be able to maneuver through it"

"I wouldn't even take that long" Grace responded heading over to kiss her parents on their cheeks and ruffling her siblings hair "I love you guys"

"We love you too"

With that she opened the living room door to go to her car. She was immediately hit by the ice cold wind making her sneeze. It wasn't even five minutes outside and she was already sneezing. Grace opened the garage to get to her cute cream white bug. A present that came from her parents on her sixteenth birthday.

She got inside with a sniff and immediately turned on the heater to warm her freezing red face, she started the car and then zoomed out to get to the mall quickly since she was doing last minute shopping it was a bit more fuller than it usually was.

Within fifteen minutes, Grace found her self parking her car on the next available parking space and took her phone and purse out. Quickly speed walking over to the entrance to not catch a cold she stumbled on a shoe that was abandoned, almost face planting to the ground before she quickly composed herself, walking more carefully to check for any shoe that would trip her again.

She got to the entrance, thankfully not injured at all. Grace maneuvered through the throngs of the late Christmas shoppers to get to the stores where she would buy the gifts for her loved ones.
