RED DIAMOND P.O.V:
"Bitch where you at?" I said into my cell, as I stood outside of Diamonds, the club I worked at on the curb waiting for Alexandria. It was summer in Miami, and though it was 4 o clock in the morning outside was still lively and packed. South beach was always lovely this time of year. The streets bustling with tourists, the usual Miami party scene people and of course off tour rappers and rich celebrities! You can never go wrong with that combo when you are trying to make your come up in this world. I'm not originally from Miami, my family moved here a couple of years back around when I was 7 years old from Barbados, but I never been tho. Too broke and I rarely get time off from work or community college so that is a definite bust. With the phone pressed to my cheek, I shifted my weight from side to side, after working 6 straight hours of bartending, dancing and entertaining my feet were on fire and my lower back felt like I was 9 months pregnant with octuplets. Where was this girl anyway?"Girl, hold on nuh, I'm on my way, stuck in traffic as usual," she replied to me answering my mental questions. I needed to get a license I know, but who ever has the time to drive or to take the time off to actually book a test and go through all that shit. Especially now when there is Uber and Lyft the point of getting a car and adding to my bills just seems pointless. Plus I usually work the same shifts as my friends so there is always a ride home, and it doesn't hurt that my best friend's boyfriend has a car too. As I said the streets were still pretty packed, hot girls strolling around with their designer everything on, and baller boys dropping mad cash at the bar trying to impress them. Typical.
"If you left when I told you to leave you wouldn't be stuck in no traffic," I said rolling my eyes as I tapped my Louboutin heels furiously against the cool pavement I stood on. They were the most expensive things in my closet and a gift from my jackass ex, if he was here right now I would probably plunge the stiletto right between his eyes. But that would just give him the idea and satisfaction of me caring.
"You know Sean had me held up to," she said. "Relax, I'm gonna be right there."
"Mhmm, that's yo excuse every night."
"Well if you would get yo ass a license, you wouldn't have to hear it every night," she retorted.
"Whatever," I said knowing full well she was right, I was going to order a Lyft but I recently saw on the news they were abducting and selling women into sex slaves or some crap like that. With how tired I felt right now I definitely couldn't fight off any assholes and I forgot my mace and taser in my other purse so here I am waiting for my always late friend.
"I'm here," she said two minutes later.
"Here where?" I asked.
"Bitch is you blind?" she snapped back.
"Oh," I said as I spotted her pull up in her boyfriend's red Dodge Challenger. Hanging up the phone I shoved it into my back pocket as I slung my LV Never Full over my shoulder making my way to the car as she pulled up by an available curb slot.
Cracking the door, I slide into the frosty front seat of the car and began my routine which consisted of removing my contacts, switching them out for my glasses, unstrapping my heels so I could put on my Fenty puma slides which were hella comfy and lastly shoving my long hair in messy bun. When all of that was finish Lex looked over to me, "Is you finish or is you done?" she said playfully.
"Ha, yeah I'm done."
"Good, well lets go, cause Sean says he wants his car back before -" was all I heard before I zoned out on what she was saying and began to drift asleep. Its been a long day, I had 8 clients back to back, I had school earlier in the morning and right now listening to Lex go on about her boyfriend Sean was a no. I mean they are the cutest couple ever, and Sean my nigga but I'm just too tired for real. So instead I let my lids shut and let my mind drift and roam freely the whole ride back from Downtown to Little Havana at the trap house where Sean hangs out. The drive wasn't that long but the little twenty minutes of shut eye did me some good. As I felt a little more lively by the time Lex pulled up in the driveway of the run-down house. It beats me as to why anybody would want to hang out in such a musty house, but hey, at least he let her use his car so I wasn't about to knock the fool or my ass would be busing it.
