Lights flashed bright colors across the stage, upbeat dance music blared through the oversized speakers. The audience was screaming, eagerly waiting for the show to start and for the star to appear. The scene was happy, fun, and, exciting but for you it was a little scary too. This was your first time at a live show, the exploding lights and loud music was enough to give you a headache, never mind the screaming fans. Normally, you would never sit front row at a live showing like this but this was Mettaton's first live show, you had to make an exception.
You'd much rather be home, cuddled up with your blanket and some warm coffee, watching the new Mettaton episode as you do every Friday night. You hated being around all of these strangers, especially by yourself. It was nerve-racking, you didn't know any of these monsters, and you had no one around to protect you. Yet, you couldn't be more happy to be here, in the front row for Mettaton. Ever since you were little, you had always dreamed of being an actress, you love to act and you were great at it. However, you were always too shy to act in front of others or go on stage.
Mettaton didn't have this problem, he's amazing. He's never scared of the enormous crowds he draws and is always cool and in control. He loves the spotlight and it loves him, he always exceeds expectations. Mettaton is a super star and everything you wish you could be. You don't understand how he does it. Anytime people look at you, waiting and anticipating, it freaks you out, knowing how easily you could fail with everyone watching. You idolize Mettaton, you want to be just like him, and he gives you the strength to keep trying, even though you still haven't gotten over your stage fright or your shyness.
"Hello darlings!! Welcome!!" Mettaton's silky voice blasts through the speakers, bringing you out of your thoughts.
"Tonight we have a very special show planed for you! I'm sure you'll love it!!" The audience cheered excitedly at this. You wonder what he could be planning. You're still nervous, but Mettaton's presence somehow makes you feel safer.
Suddenly, the music starts up again and, Mettaton begins to dance. Slowly at first, making sure to keep his eyes on the audience and flashing a smile whenever possible. The tempo of the music picks up and so does Mettaton's dance, he does some fast spins and twirls, showing off his legs. His dance is graceful and effortless but at the same time powerful, you and the rest of the audience love it.
"Mettaton! Mettaton! Mettaton!" They begin chanting his name and you join in not long after. Mettaton delivers his final blow, spinning into the air as the lights bounce off his metallic skin, creating beautiful specks of color throughout the room. You and the rest of the audience gasp in awe and cheer even louder than before. This is like nothing you have ever seen before, Mettaton was amazing and to be this close to him was magical.
The music stops and Mettaton brings a finger to his closed mouth, hushing the audience. A moment of silence passes by while everyone is fixated on Mettaton's stunning smile, wondering what's next.
"Now it's time for something even I have never done before!" Everyone is shocked, what could he possibly be referring to?
"I'll need one of you lovely darlings to help me on this one. Which one of you wants to come on stage with the beautiful Mettaton!?" The whole building shakes with the screams and cries of thousands of fans, begging to be chosen. The noise is almost too much for you to handle, but you have to stay and see where this goes.
"The spotlight will shine on my brightest star and they will join me on stage!!" As Mettaton sings this, the spotlight clicks on and begins moving through the audience. You don't pay too much attention to it, just wanting the winner to be chosen already, until the bright light stings your eyes.
You cover your eyes with your floppy ears, in response. A moment of panic washes over you before you realize that the bright light is the spotlight, shining directly on you.
