Chapter 1

“Oh, my, God...am I dreaming or is it just my imagination playing tricks on me again?” I laugh and hug my brother and his band mate dorks. All of which include: Connor-bright blue eyes that stand out against his freakishly pale skin and black hair that gets into his eyes every five seconds; Shane-big brown eyes to match his spiky brown hair and has a hint of a tan. Pure gorgeous. But he has a two year girlfriend, stupid slut. Just kidding, she actually talks to me and has brains; Liam-every girls dream, tanned, in shape, blue/grey eyes that you just melt into and I think is literally God’s gift to girls, or mother nature’s, just to make up for giving us girls periods. Then there’s the idiot I call brother, other people call him Ry’ or Ryan. Me? I just call him idiot, it works. But they’ve all just came back from a five month tour, you’d think I’d be happy they go away all the time. Oh no, my Mam and Dad only wanted two kids, so they had two kids. Now one goes away months on end and they barely notice because of their ‘very important jobs’, yeah right, and the other one? Doing extremely well in school due to loneliness and boredom, pretty sad right? Nope, ‘cause guess what bitches?! I'm going on tour with them in three weeks baby! Excited is not the word, jizz is.

Right now though we’re sitting in the living room talking about how Connor fell through the stage, even though they warned him there was a trap door there, idiot.

“By this point we’ve all stopped right? Everyone’s waiting for something to happen and he pops his head up, whiter than usual, saying ‘well that’s gonna bruise’. Oh god Em’, wait ‘til you’re with us,” says Shane.

“Well guess what?”

“What?”

“You do realise I'm going to be there when you come in drunk, find out all your secrets and weird habits, but, best of all, I’ll be there to see which poor sod or dogs you bring back for one-night stands,” I sit there grinning at them all.

“I hate your sister Ry'.”

“No you don’t Liam, you love me, otherwise you wouldn’t agree to let me come on tour.”

“Well I’ve got nothing to worry about anyway, it’s usually Ry' that brings back the chicks,” yes my brother is known to have slept with a lot of girls at the age of 19, but the band are doing just fine. I don’t even see why girls go for him, I mean yeah, he is lead guitarist, he does have muscles-not a lot-but he does. Then there’s the fact he is quite pale and he has swishy blonde hair and blue eyes, which doesn’t look good on him, I think. But none of them have ever cared what I think. Whereas I'm not that pale, few freckles, and brown/blonde hair with green eyes, he looks more like my Dad, I, unfortunately, look more like my Mam.

“Oh Ry' guess what?” says Shane.

“What?”

“You can’t get drunk.”

“And why’s that?”

“In case Emily has some and gets herself a one night stand,” me and Ryan both glare at him, Ryan also has his jaw clenched.

“I am still in the room and thanks Shane, nice to know you think I'm easy.”

“Oh guys guess what I've just thought of too,” whines Connor.

“What?” we all turn and look at him.

“We all better not piss her off when she’s....y’know....on her periods,” oh good God! And they are supposed to be 19 year olds, who’ve had girlfriends.

“Well just think of it as practise for your future/current girlfriends and speaking of them Shane, is Kayleigh going?” you know those moments when everyone looks down and everything goes silent? Yeah, that’s what’s happening.

“Sorry Em’, me and Kay, we um, we broke up,” shit.

“No I'm sorry, um are you okay?”

“Well yeah, I mean, we were both drifting apart and I was never home, I just thought we could last you know?”

“Yeah and I thought you two were great together and she had to know that you were never going to be home when you said you’re in a band, the right girl will come along, just wait. Now let’s lift this mood with....your new album!”

“Whoa, you actually bought it?” Shane says grabbing it out of my hand-that’s Kay forgotten.

“No this is just my own artwork of you lot and a mix tape someone made me,” idiots.

“Oh Ryan, better get that ‘someone’ sorted out,” says Liam jokingly but with a hint of seriousness. It can’t mean anything but over protectiveness, he’s always thought of me as a younger sister, I think. He must, he’s saw me at my very worst and trust me, my very worst is hell on a bad day.

“Ah, you’re just jealous. At least I can have romance in my life.”

“Oh yeah? What’s his name then? And I’ll have you know that I have hundreds of girls screaming my name.”

“Wow, you’re easy. Hundreds of girls huh? That’s one big gang bang,” Connor and Shane laugh, idiot stares at me, shouldn’t really mention sex around brother.

“Oh and his name’s Michael,” Michael is actually just my best friend, but I love to piss these guys off, it’s fun.

“How old is he?”

“Same age as me. 16 in case you’ve forgotten,” I finished school two weeks ago, with flying colours. Been trying to decide between either sixth form or college and also which university I should apply to in two years.

“Oh and here’s me thinking you like older boys, especially after Sean,” oh he didn’t.

“Like you can talk! Violet? She was young even for you,” he glares at me.

“Well Sean was way too old.”

“Look we can go back and forth with this all day, but we can both admit that Sean was too old and Violet was too young, okay?” he nods, but doesn’t look happy, like he wanted to carry on arguing, arse.

“Plus Sean was barely walking when we broke up, because a certain four idiots decided to ‘pay him a visit’.”

“Well he shouldn’t have messed with you, and you can tell Michael that too,” says Shane putting his arm around me.

“Nice to know you’s are all there for me,” I shoot Liam a look, “but you’s could have at least went a little easier on him,” they all look at me shocked, unfortunately my brother speaks.

“Do you still have feelings for him?” he’s angry, really angry.

“No, of course not, you don’t think I'm that dumb do you?”

“Well I don’t know, you carried on going out with him even after you knew his age! Oh and let’s not forget the state we found you in,” that was a low blow and he could tell.

“You know something Ry', I wait five months and ten months at a time, just to have company in this house, but for you to come back and bring that night up is unfair and I can’t wait ‘til you’re back out that door in 3 weeks, and I think it’s best that I don’t tag along on tour, don’t you?”

I walk away, through the pale yellow and white kitchen and out the back door. I don’t take the front door, it’s easier to get away from them through the forest. I know where I'm going though, The Green Hut, where Michael works. I might’ve told a lie before, Michaels 18.

The Green Hut’s a pub.
