Chapter 3
Ry' starts walking down the steps while Michael gets out of his car.
“Ah Michael, you're the one my sister’s been staying with,” I know that tone of voice and that look, me and Shane run towards them. Shane knocks Ry' down just in time before he goes to hit Michael, I push Michael towards his car.
“Get in, drive and if they follow don’t go to yours, go somewhere public,” I can’t wait to get out of here. I hop in the passenger seat.
“Oh and put your foot down, at least ‘til we’re far enough away,” Michael hates breaking the speed limit, but I think in situations like this he will.
I look behind us to find Liam’s car, great just who I want to see in this situation. I take out my phone.
‘Turn your car around and drive away’
‘No, I only want to talk to this guy, then I’ll let you’s go and I’ll tell the others I lost you.’
‘Why, why would you do that?’
‘Because I’m not all macho like Ry'.’
‘Fine, meet us at The Green Hut.’
‘Sure.’
“Michael, we need to go back to yours.”
“Are you insane? You just want to see me lose a limb, don’t you?”
“No, but Liam’s agreed to just speak to you and Liam’s a lot of things, but the one thing he knows not to do, it lie to me.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because I know when they’re lying and the outcome of them lying meant me disappearing for weeks on end. Sometimes it was your place, others hotels.”
“Oh God, I had to meet you,” I smile at him as he heads towards The Green Hut. If Liam thinks he’s going to be left alone with Michael, he can kiss my arse.
We pull up to Michael’s after about 10 minutes and I jump out the car first.
“Ok Liam, what do you want?”
“So this is where you’re staying huh? Looks better than some of the places I've found you at,” I look at the floor, remembering all those times, him dragging me out of hotels that I personally think should have been shut down.
“Yes this is where I’m staying, please don’t tell them lot and this place is twenty times better than any place I've ever stayed.”
“Really? Why’s that?”
“This place is practically home,” he looks at me sad, sympathy is not what I want.
“It’s a good job I'm not Ryan.”
“I know but uh, if that’s all you can go,” I say to him and look at his car so he’ll take a hint.
“Not quite, but nice try, Michael come here a sec,” oh shit no, “we haven’t been introduced, I'm Liam and I already know who you are. Don’t worry I'm not like her brother and beat the living shit out of any guy that looks at her, I prefer talking,” Michael just nods, I'm guessing he’s nervous.
“So I already know you’re 18, you look like a nice enough lad. Do you smoke?”
“Quit when I was 15, smoked for two years.”
“Ok and drinking? Well I guess you drink ‘cause you live in a pub, but you don’t get absolutely hammered do you?”
“No, my Dad doesn’t drink and he lives in a pub, just to let you know. I only drink to my limit though.”
