**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**This is my first ever fanfiction. I hope you mortals enjoy and please leave feedback in the comments section! Bye friends!
PS Selene is gonna be important. Don't hate on her.
**~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~**Ugh. School. Bleh." Selene thought to herself as the rolled out of bed and trudged to her closet. "Well, I guess I have to pick out what to wear today, Selene." She said to herself aloud. After 10 minutes of deep thought, she settled on a black leather jacket, with a navy tunic and dark ripped jeans. As she lumbered down the stairs, she heard her dad singing in the kitchen.
He seemed extra chipper today. "Death of a bachelor, ohh, letting the water fall. Death of a bachelor, ohh, seems so meaningf- Oh! Hey Selene! Are you ready for schooool?" he sang. "Meh." Selene groaned. "School is school." Her dad made a face. "Well it's a new school, so maybe things will be better than your previous one." He said. Selene thought about the disaster some called Murmansk Upper School. A hellhole with everyone in the town that was from 7th to 12th grade. She hated it there. There were two people that made it bearable, however. Her best friend Eve and her fellow anime fanatic, the Unicorn Princess Ellie, modest math whiz.
Other than that... well, it was the worst experience of her life. So going to a new school was a good thing for her. Ish. Going to a new school is always traumatizing, even for the most seasoned traveler. But, she scarfed down her breakfast and almost ran out the door and down the street to catch the bus. She almost made it out the door, but her other dad, Katsuki Yuuri stopped her. "Yuuri-chan! I have to leave!" "I think you forgot someone, though..." Her brother Yuri Plisetsky stepped out of the shadows. Selene sighed in exasperation. "Come on, Yurio. We have to go!"
The old frail woman almost drove right past them, but managed to stop the bus in time. "Welcome aboard bus 478, young lady. What's your name?" the old lady asked. "I'm Selene. Selene Nikiforov. Nice to meet you." "Selene? That's a very nice name, dearie. And how about you, young man?"
"I am Yuri Plisetsky."
"Ok, then."
Selene took a seat in the middle of the bus and pulled out her earphones. She started blasting Pierce the Veil to block out the screaming voices on the bus.
After an hour-long bus ride, we made it to Middlebrooks High School. Kids streamed out of the buses, and she got swept up in the crowd headed to the front door. As she stumbled through the halls looking for her homeroom, she noticed a group of tall pretty girls clustered around a mirror, eyeing and laughing at her. "Oh look! Fresh meat. Wonder how long it will take to break her in?" She ignored them and continued the search for room 469. After another 5 minutes of looking around, she finally found it and entered the room in search of the teacher, Professor Summerour. "Are you Professor Summerour?" she asked the teacher in the room politely. "Why yes I am. You must be new."
"Yeah...I just moved here from Russia."
"Well, welcome to Middlebrooks High. I am delighted to meet you. Do you have your schedule, Miss..."
"Nikiforov."
"Miss. Nikiforov. Just like that famous ice skater. What's his name...?
"Victor. He's one of my dads."
"Oh! Well do tell him that I would love to meet him one day!"
"Will do."
"Well there is an empty desk over there, next to the young lady with long purple hair. You can sit over there."
"Blagodarya!"
"Pardon?"
"Sorry! I lapsed into Russian. It means thanks."
"Well, you're very welcome."
Selene walked over to the desk next to the purple haired girl. She was concentrated on drawing something that looked suspiciously like her brother, Yuri Plisetsky. "What are you drawing?" she asked, lightly. Not looking up, Purple Hair Girl answered, "I'm drawing Yurio. Ya know, the figure skating dude..."
"Oh! I know him!"
"You do?"
"Yeah." Selene said sheepishly. "He's my brother."
"What?!? Seriously??"
"Y-yeah..."
"He's going to school here too. He is in Dr. Bishop's homeroom."
"WHAT?!? I'm gonna have to start a Middlebrooks chapters of Yuri's Angels..."
"Who are you?"
"I just moved here from Russia. My name is Selene Nikiforov."
"Re-really? Your dad is Victor NIKIFOROV? The figure skating LEGEND?
"Yeah."
"Well, very nice to meet you. I'm Ava. Ava Giacometti."
"Nice to meet you, too."
"So, do you skate?"
"Yeah. I'm training for the Grand Prix."
"OMG! That's amazing that you're already at that level."
"I guess so. You could say it runs in the family..."
Ava turned towards Selene and started interrogating her on her entire life. All about her brother, Yuri Plisetsky, and about her two dads, Victor Nikiforov and Katsuki Yuuri. Homeroom lasted about an hour, and the entire time, Ava and Selene were chatting. When the bell for next period rung, Selene found that she was sad to leave. "First day and I've already made a friend. New record." She thought to herself.
The rest of the day followed a pattern. She would introduce herself to the teachers, they would be amazed that her dad is Victor Nikiforov, and then she would sit down and draw. All day. When the final bell rung, she met up with her brother outside the front doors. "Hey Yuratchka." Selene called. "What's up, idiot." He called back. "Just wondering how your first day of American school was."
"It was fine. I'm surprised that I didn't get bombarded with morons trying to ruin my day."
"Well, I met a girl called Ava Giacometti. She is a huge fan of you and Dads. She says she is gonna start up a Middlebrooks chapter for Yuri's Angels. You better watch out."
"Dang it!"
"Well, such is life. Now, are we taking the bus, or is Victor going to pick us up?"
"I think Dad is picking us up. He just got done with practice, and our school is on his way home."
"Well, crap. Prepare for the crowds. All my teachers today were like "OMG your dad is Victor Nikiforov?!?". So get ready, because I saw a lot of them on carpool duty today."
"I'll see you on the other side, loser."
And with that, Yuri took off. She caught up with him in no time. "I guess all that training paid off." She thought. She beat him to the carpool line, and as soon as he got there, she celebrated by doing a little dance. He responded by punching her in the arm. "Heh. I got here fiiiisrt! I'm better than Yurio!!" Selene singsonged. "Don't. Call. Me That."
"Tough."
"Grrrr"
" Oh! Look! Victor's car is here. Let's make a run for it before we get mobbed."
They ran across the parking lot and jumped into his car before anyone could see. Unfortunately, they couldn't skip the carpool line. They had to sit in the line like all the other mortals. Yurio immediately got on Instagram to check if anyone had leaked a photo of him today at school. No one had. Their plan to move under the radar was soon foiled as Victor rolled down his window to let in the breeze. Professor Summerour noticed him and let out a long squeal of excitement. She blushed when he smiled at her, and tried to regain composure and failed. Summerour gave him a small wave and he waved back. She smiled as hard as she could. She couldn't wait to tell her family about today's events.
They arrived at their new house, and they all raced out of the car. Victor, to put all his gear away, and for Selene and Yurio to grab their stuff to practice. As they bounded up the stairs, Katsuki Yuuri yelled, "Stop running! You are going to mess up the stairs. I just vacuumed." They ignored him and went to their respective rooms to grab their skates and stuff. "Sorry Yuuri-chan!" Selene yelled. They were back in the car in five minutes and on their way to Middlebrooks Ice Rink for a private practice session. The manager of the rink was more than happy to clear the rink for them as soon as she heard Victor Nikiforov was going to be there.
"Isn't Katsuki going to be there, old man?" Yurio asked harshly. "Yes. He will be joining us later, Yuratchka. And, next time try to be a little bit nicer." Yurio slumped in his seat as he stared out the window for the remainder of the ride. After another 10 minutes in the car, Victor announced, "Middlebrooks Ice Rink. In all its glory." They got out of the car and went inside to check in. The rink manager was waiting at the skate rental counter and her eyes lit up as soon as Selene, Yurio, and Victor walked into the rink.
" Ah! The one and only Victor Nikiforov. I see you've brought Yuri Plisetsky and Selene with you. Welcome, welcome, welcome." She walked out from behind the counter and shook everyone's hand. "Zdravstvuy. It's great to meet you. Where can we put our skates on?"
"Over on those benches is fine. I will try not to disturb your practice, and if any rabid fangirls try to enter, I'll keep them at bay."
"Sounds perfect. Ms...."
"Adair. Ella Adair."
"Thank you, Ms. Adair."
Ms. Adair left us alone in the rink as we changed into practice clothes and our skates. "Make sure to tie the laces nice and tight." advised Victor.
"No duh. I wasn't born yesterday, imbecile." retorted Yurio.
Selene opened the heavy door on the side of the rink to enter. She glided onto the smooth ice and waited on the side for the boys to enter. When Yurio was on the wall as well, Victor instructed them to make laps around the rink to get used to the new ice. When they had taken off their land legs and put on their ice skating legs, Victor asked them to practice different jumps. They hadn't been on the ice in a while, moving and all. First jump up was a triple toe loop. They were to perform one in any direction. Selene went first and stuck the landing beautifully. Then Yurio went, and had to put a hand on the ice when he landed. Scowling, he took his place at the wall again. They did that for a while, with double Lutz's, Triple toe loops, and finally quadruple Salchows.
The end of the three hours came far too quickly, and Selene was reluctant to get off the ice. But, her hunger propelled her to the car, and off they went home, to get some food to put in their starving stomachs. When they got home, they were delighted to find that Yuuri-chan had made pork cutlet bowls. He had purposely never left the house, so he could surprise his husband and children with their favorite meal. Only ten minutes later, the food was gone, and everyone went to separate places to help unpack or to just rewind. Selene went to take a shower. She needed something to help her relax and just soak in the events of the day. What she really couldn't process that tomorrow she would be learning the short program for the Grand Prix Finals. She still couldn't believe she had qualified. Yuratchka also did, so they would all be going to Barcelona, Spain this year for the tournament.
