I jumped from the roof falling on the ground. Landing a tuck and roll I called my sisters name.

" Mary!" I screamed. My throat raw as I yelled her name over and over again, soon I heard in the distance

Mary calling mine. For some reason, of which I did not know, she told me to leave her and start climbing the fence. Trusting my little sister with my life, I climbed the fence to the top I looked over too see her. As I did she was followed by a herd of zombies. I had to act quick. I pulled out my rifle and began to shoot the ones closest to her. Soon she got close enough to me she threw her back pack up I caught it as she jumped. The slam of the chained link fence rattled in my ears but one of them caught her leg. She was able to kick him  in the face. The zombie tumbled back and fell.

It was hard but I shot it anyways. Its not so easy to shoot the dead when you know them... all of them. See we had stolen meds, and other supplies from what used to be an old refugee camp at the old town high school. Almost everyone in our small town was there. Even our father and mother Mr. and Mrs. Green. But one night I heard screams and I saw a zombie in the distance eating my mother. I grabbed both my sisters and ran. Soon after I headed over and shot both mama and pa in the head so they wouldn't turn. Sadly Mary saw me. She hasn't been the same since. I blame myself fro that. The good thing that came out was she knows the things eating us are not people anymore they are dead. Mary is now  stronger because of it so I know when the time comes she will pull through.

Eventually we got back to the tree house. We have been living here ever since the camp went down. Mary and I built it out of abandoned houses along the roads and the doors on cars as a roof. It wasn't very stable at first but we found a way to cement it in so the storms wouldn't tear it down. We learned the zombies are pretty dumb, dumb enough to not know how to climb at least. So this way everyone can sleep and no one has to be worried about something eating them. Other than the mosquitoes.

Mary and I took a long nap until Jane, my youngest sister whom is only 6,  shook us up. Claiming there were noises of someone trying to get into the tree house. I told Mary to go to position and  shoot. Then I told Jane to go into her corner and stay quiet. I then grabbed my riffle and poked my head out the window. I saw a boy about as young as me, cute too. Running from two zombies. The first one had jumped him from behind, he stabed it in the head, mean while I shot the second one. Startled the boy looked up. He was bleeding from his upper right leg.

"were you bit?" I asked riffle aimed for his head

"WHAT?!? No no of course not!" the boy said

I fell running down a steep hill, That's when the zombies must have caught up to me. Thanks, The names Trevor, by the way"

I jumped down from my post. His eyes blossomed like the ocean blue.

"Its Margo" I said happily,  I knew him from before. He was the most popular boy in school,  rich too.  He never really noticed me. I could hear Mary giggling at me.

I then brought him in to the tree house to treat his leg,  After wards my sisters pulled me over. Jane was holding a notebook and not just any note book my diary. In it I drew a picture of him, this was so long ago. But I guess you an say I'm like a descendant  from Mozart. They kept on asking me all these different questions. But I ignored them all. Snatching the notebook from their hand saying " He was an old teenage crush,  and their response was "maybe God  gave you another chance," and then went off to be kids on the other side of the tree house.

"What was that about?" giggled Trevor

"Nothing, just kids being kids. So where have you been living, because apparently you got over run." I said

"Yea, I grabbed as much as possible. Looking for another place, You guys seem to have a lot of room." He said with a flirty hopeful tone.

"I would say yea but I have to make sure its ok with my sisters cause they live here too and I want to be .." Before I could finish my sentence my sisters cut me off, eavesdropping on our conversation, and said that it would be nice to have more company.

"Its settled then." He smiled "who wants to show me around?" he asked

"MARGO  and WILL sitting in a tree.. k i s s i n g" My sisters screamed in my embarrassment. I ended up ruining their fun

"SHHHHH you don't want to attract zombies do you!!?!??" I said

"No..." they said in disbelief that I would have been the one to ruin the fun

"Be nice to them they are just messing with you. Plus not everyone has their family left" Trevor said.

"I know" I said feeling sorry for myself. I just looked like a complete idiot in front of the last guy on earth. I must keep cool. I thought to myself, I don't want to look stupid.

That's when I thought back to what happened on the day I first met him. It was the spring of 2013. I was in my bright, white Sunday dress, then him in his Sunday suit. Going to church, I looked over and saw him sitting alone. "I am going to sit with him, so he wont be alone. Is that ok mama" I had said this.  When I did I knew my mama thought I liked him. I could see it on the smirk she had on her face. Of course I was only an eighth grader at the time so I didn't care much about boys, considering I was sort of the nerd girl in the school. So I walked over to him and said "is that seat taken" his response was no and he smiled. That's when he looked me directly in the eyes. We were face to face. He was the hottest guy in church. At the time though I thought that it was pretty bad of me to be in the house of my God and only thinking I am sitting next to the hottest guy he ever created....
