Roxy looked at her expression in the bathroom mirror of her hotel room horrified. "I can't go out looking like this." she exclaimed.
"Don't be silly girl, you look hot!" Veronica yelled to her from the other room.
She sighed and looked at her reflection again. Her black sleeveless shirt had a swoop neckline that showed off more of her cleavage than she would ever normally think about showing. It was accompained with a black skirt that ended mid thigh, much shorter than she had ever worn before. Roxy turned to the side looking, the outfit did show off her curves well, but that didn't make her feel anymore comfortable in it.
"Now lets take care of hair and make up." Veronica chirpped happily ignoring her friends discomfort. Roxy started to protest but Veronica held up her hand. "I so don't want to hear it, you promised me Roxy Anne Porter! You said you would not complain or back down. I let you chicken out after an hour yesterday, but tonight is our last night in New york an I am not letting you get out of it this time." She snapped and commanded that Roxy sat down so she could fix her hair. Roxy pulled her face into a pout as she plopped down in the chair.
Why did I ever agree to this? she thought miserably, but she already knew why. Veronica has been her best friend since she could remember and somehow her friend always knew how to get her to do what ever she wanted.
When Roxy turned 26, Veronica took on a mission of breaking her out of her isolated life. "If you keep going like this Roxy, you are going to end up crazy with a house full of cats." She said when they had gone out for Roxy's birthday.
Roxy rolled her eyes "Dont ya think your exaggerating a little bit Veronica?" She asked and the blonde shook her head side to side.
"No I am not your last boyfriend was nearly five years ago. Yoiu probably have cobwebs between your legs."
Roxy laughed and shrugged. She didn't really mind the way her life was. Yes she did get lonely and wouldn't mind to have a bit of romance, but she wasn't about to change herself all around just for a man to notice her.
"If a fisherman didn't bait his hook, he would go home empty handed. If you want a guy you are going to have to bait him with something Roxy." Veronica told her with a sly smile.
"Men are not fish Veronica, and if being myself isn't bait enough for them then they don't deserve to have me." Roxy replied. "Besides men are not the be all and end all of life."
Veronica looked at her like she was crazy. A smile came back to her lips. "No they might not be all and end of life" she admitted "But they sure do make it a lot more fun."
About a month ago Veronica got the crazy idea of taking a trip to New york for them to have fun for the weekend.
"It will be cool, you can break with the good girl and go wild. No one in this little town will know the difference. So you can go back to your boring little routine if you like." Veronica told her.
The idea did sound kind of exciting. Stepping out of routine about being shy, nice, and worrying what other people thought of her.
So here she was sitting in her hotel room in New York being pampered by Veronica in attempts to break her quiet good girl routine.
