It was something you never thought would happen. All Matt ever wanted to do was be an actor and entertain others. But all his dreams came crashing down. Things changed and Matt was called to take a part in the Army. He was going to have to go through boot camp and then he would be sent off to fight in the war.
How could you be losing your other half so fast? You both were so young. He was so young. This isn't what he wanted to do in life. You didn't want him going out there fighting for your country because you didn't want to lose him. That thought was always in your head. How could you lose your best friend, your boyfriend, your everything, all because of this stupid war your stupid president put your country in.
You couldn't let him leave you. You needed to get married so you could be with him. That was the only thing you could think of. It was the only way to allow him to be a part of you. Maybe it was one way to stop him from going.
You went to him and grabbed his hands. His demeanor had changed since he found out he had to be sent off to fight in a war. He was pretty much lifeless. He was person you honestly didn't know. As you held his hands he did nothing back he just stared blankly at the floor not even acknowledging your existence.
"Matthew Lee Espinosa, listen I know this is hard and I know you don't want to be thinking about anything. I know you want to be alone but I think we should get married right now. I know it might hurt me if I lose you but either way I'd lose you if something happened, married or not. You mean the world to me. You make me smile every day. You are everything I have ever wanted in a man. You are mine and I'm not going to let this stupid War take you away from me completely. Lets just do it. Lets go get married at the court house. Lets put a smile on your face even if it is just for a second because I miss seeing you smile. I miss hearing you laugh. I miss YOU. I miss the boy I fell in love with. So please let me have some happiness back in both of our lives."
You felt his hand tighten around yours and he looked at you. His blank stare turned into a one with an emotion and a purpose. He stood up and pulled you up with him and held you. He hadn't held you like this since he got the news. You felt complete again. To be honest I think you made Matt feel complete again to. A slight smile appeared on his face. "You really want to do this?"
You couldn't think of anything better than marrying your best friend. So of course it was something you really wanted to do. You didn't care for having an extravagant wedding anyways you didn't need all the glitz and glam to make it complete. All you needed was him you and a piece of paper that said officially married. Or whatever those papers say.
You went down to the court house and got married to Matt. You honestly couldn't believe you had become Mrs. Espinosa. It still hadn't clicked that you were officially an Espinosa. What an accomplishment in such a hard time.
You would do anything to see Matt smile. That is exactly what you did today. You took all the worries off his mind. You gave him a sense of accomplishment. You gave him a place in the world. You gave him a purpose to fight. You, you my dear, were everything to him.
