Vernon's POV

After battling myself for quite sometimes, I decided to enter the room. I was stunned upon the view. I froze at my place, tried to calm my heart that might burst from the thumping. Fortunately, none of them was looking. I closed my eyes and thought, 'this is it. Whatever is going to happen, brace yourself for the worst'. I opened them and walked towards the group. 

My eyes fixed on her while she was looking at me in confusion. SinB then broke the silence by introducing me, "Dahyun, we got a new classmate. Here's Vernon. Vernon, this is Dahyun. My sweety, my seatmate, my baby".

 "H-hi, Kim Dahyun." I stuttered but still managed to spill out those words. Even though I've calmed myself earlier, the heartbeats seemed to pound hard again. God, help me.  I can feel cold sweats starting to form on my hands. But at the same time, I was so happy to see her again after so long. But my expectations were dashed when she replied with a smile on her face, "Hi Vernon. Welcome to the school".

God, what'd happened to you, Kim Dahyun? Did you really have forgotten me and if you did, is this god's blessing for me? Is it another chance for me to own your heart once again? But to be honest, it's hurting me. How can she forgotten me? I tried finding the truth in her eyes but she shifted her gaze and coughed. Are you lying?

I couldn't get my eyes off her until I felt someone's gaze on me. I glanced to her side and noticed Jaebum was staring at me. I just couldn't read his mind, why was he staring at me? But then he broke the stare and shifted his gaze to Dahyun. His gaze softened and handed her a drink. 

"Aigoo. You're still coughing. Don't forget to take your medicines."JB said while caressing her back gently. As she stopped coughing, she handed her drink to JB which JB put it on the table beside the bed. Then, he put her down,  making her sleep on the bed. Then, he caressed her hair. She just let him do that. She then smiled at him and closed her eyes. 

And what was I doing? I froze upon the sweetness upon me. The view was sweet but somehow it feels bitter inside here. Have you felt like being choked? That was how I felt. I couldn't breathe properly, my chest tightened. 

"Guys, we go to the class first", Jackson suddenly said bringing Sinb with him who was slouching on the couch,

I felt like pushing him away from her. But I know, I couldn't. She looks happy. I didn't want to hurt myself anymore so I rushed out and went somewhere quiet, somewhere I can let my tears fall free. On the first day of school, I'm already skipping class. Brilliant.

Jb's pov

I saw the way he kept staring at Dahyun. Even when he first saw her, he looked mesmerized. I know she is pretty, but please. She's mine.

"H-hi, Kim Dahyun." Wait. Nobody has introduced her full name to him? How did he know? Be positive, JB. Maybe Jackson or Sinb have told him about it. Talking about them, I looked around and found them on the sofa at the corner, playing around.

I shifted my attention to him again. He was obviously staring at Dahyun, which I didn't like what he was doing. I kept my eyes on him. I think I have to be careful with him. Then he looked at me. We locked gaze. I broke it by shifting my attention to Dahyun as she coughed.

"Aigoo. You're still coughing. Don't forget to take your medicines." I said while caressing her back gently. As she stopped coughing, she handed her drink to me which I put on the table beside the bed. Then, I put her down, making her sleep on the bed. Then, he caressed her hair. She just let him do that. She then smiled at him and closed her eyes. 

She smiled at me and closed her eyes. She always looks prettier when she is smiling.

Jackson and Sinb excused themselves to go to class first. And I guess Vernon joined them because when I turned around, he was nowhere to be found.

As I saw Dahyun has been in a deep sleep, I got up. before I walked away, I kissed her forehead. "Don't ever get hurt, I love you."
