Icy stared at the water. "Do you see this, Asphalt?" She asked Asphalt. The water was a thin, yellow liquid. Asphalt peered closer. "You mean the little sticks with red ends?" She meowed excitedly.

Icy wrinkled his nose. "No- it's this yellow liquidy stuff." She raised her paw and put it above the water. The black slime covered her metallic silvery paw.

She let out a gasp and pulled away. "Icy!" Asphalt turned to the edge of the water and pulled out her paw. "What are you doing?"

Icy whipped around and realized that Luna Kala was here. "Luna! You'll never guess what happened to the water."

Luna gasped and stared at the water. "Where is it? Get away from there, Icy!" She pulled Icy out of the black liquid and shoved her into ditch.

"We have to get out!" Luna told Icy. "Why?" Icy muttered. She could still smell the foul yellow liquid. She wrinkled her nose. "That yellow liquid smelled foul!" She reported.

Luna rolled her eyes. "No, you idiot! That was fire. Where is Asphalt?" She asked. Icy looked back at the yellow liquid. Asphalt was still watching the yellow river.

"She is over there, by the smelly liquid," Icy replied. Luna looked in the direction of the liquid. "No, she's not," she retorted.

Icy narrowed her eyes. "What are you talking about? That fire is a yellow liquid. Asphalt thinks it is a ditch full of tiny sticks with red ends."

Luna lost her sneer. Turning back, she whispered," Are you serious?" Icy nodded. "Maybe we each are seeing different things," she suggested.

Icy looked jn the direction of Asphalt. She now looked around. "Icy!" She called. "Come back! Why are you buried in the sticks?" She yowled.

Icy tipped her head. "I didn't fall in." Luna shivered. "Maybe she saw you fall in. We are having visions, right?"

Icy gasped suddenly. A sharp burning pierced her side. "No!" Asphalt trembled. "Icy! Come back!"

Icy fell down and the burning was all around. She heard a burning flame and coughed in the smoke that overwhelmed her.

"Icy, where did you go?" Luna's shaky meow shook away her pain. Icy felt normal, but her eyes widened in shock. "I-I'm here," she gasped.

Luna sounded more frantic. She dashed away in the direction of their home. Asphalt had gone too. Icy felt the ground tremble underneath her.

She was falling... Down down down into the deep river and caught on a rock and drowning.

But she was not alone.

Icy saw Asphalt glaring at her. Her black slime was hidden in the shadows and she swam away. "Help me!" Icy choked desperately.

Then, she saw Luna Kala. Luna growled at her and unsheathed her large claws. Her ears flattened and her blue eyes were full of distrust and hate.

Icy watched Luna growl once more and swim away. Icy's silvery fur gleamed through the moonlight.

Then, darkness swallowed her whole and the river blackened.
