chapter one
h o t c h o c o l a t eIt was cold. A different cold from what you were used to. It almost seemed... fuzzy in a sense- if that made any sense at all in the first place.
The sun was falling down from the sky at this time. Wasn't any more late than it was early. Funny enough, the sun's colors and the sun itself was very contrast to the weather. It was a deep orange and yellow, covering the entire the sky while the ground was slathered with a deep white frost. The sky seemed warm and cozy compared to what you stood on.
"Whatcha lookin' at?" You heard a voice from behind you, almost sounding as though it was a scream traveling out across the street towards you.
You turn around, your hair whipping behind you as you do. Through your breath, you could see Seán. He held two cups, one in each of his hands. He walked over with a smile on his face, his cheeks a shade of crimson. It made him look... cute.
"Just looking at the sunset," you replied, returning the smile along with your words.
"It sure is beautiful isn't it?" he handed you the cup in his hand gently. It was nice and warm in your hand, not burning warm thanks to the wool gloves you wore that day.
"Yeah. It is. Thank you."
"Ah, it's no problem. Anything for my special someone."
You laugh under your breath and took a sip of the hot chocolate he retrieved for you.
"How was work?" he asked you with a kindly smile.
You shrug your shoulders, taking another sip from the cup. "Alright I guess... what about you?"
"Ah, great as always." He laughed a little while he spoke.
You stared at him with a sort of smirk. "You know, you could be a Santa. The kind that dress up and welcome kids at the malls."
"How so?"
"Ah, you have really cute rosy cheeks. Have a jolly laugh. Everything about you is pretty much jolly, really."
"I wouldn't say that now," he laughed again.
You laughed in return to his statement. "You are though. Would just have to dye your hair white."
"Now I'm not dyeing my hair white, missy."
"Missy?"
"Missy."
You just nod your head and continue to walk down the sidewalk, Seán fallowing you beside you.
"I mean, you could eat cookies all night long as Santa."
Seán's eyes brightened. "You have a point there."
"You'd be the first official Irish Santa."
"Maybe I should dye my hair white."
You thought of the imagine in your head. "No. Don't do that."
"You're the one who's pushing me to."
"No, not at all. I love your green hair."
"Oh, do you now?" He flashed an eyebrow up at you.
"You know I do, Seán."
He smiled a smile that made your stomach become full with butterflies. "I know you do." He wrapped his arm around you and managed push through both of your think snow jackets to bring his lips to your cheek. Then, right after, he moved his face so he could nudge his forehead into your temple. He whispered, as you could tell, smiling, "I love you."
You smiled along with him and whispered back, "I love you, too."
