The Begining

4:00 am
I wake up to a familiar, loud beeping noise. I look up and just stare. Stare at my ceiling. Thinking about how normal my day will be. My day will turn out just as the last one did. Sad, depressing, and completely boring. I sometimes wonder.... wonder why I still put up with my job. Then I remind myself...

Harleen, just get up, and out of bed. You love your job. You love helping people with their issues.

I do my usual morning stretches, sit up from my bed, and put my slippers on. I walk to my kitchen, make my usual buttered toast, and sliced apple. As my food is cooking I go to my closet and pick my outfit for the day. I pick my navy blue blouse, with my favorite white knee high skirt.

I hurry to eat my breakfast, after I'm done I hurry to grab my heels. After I'm almost ready, I grab my white psychiatrist coat, grab my ID, then I'm out the door.

I hop in a taxi then head on off to my job. Once I get to my stop I get out of the taxi and immediately see the big words plastered on a sign, that said Arkham Asylum.

I walk up the concrete stairs, with each step comes the noise from my heels. I walk up to the huge, yet locked, double doors. I gently slide my ID card through the slot. *click* I open the door and walk through the main office, to look in my mail slot.

I open up a letter, at the top of it said,

Dear Dr.Harleen Quinzel, Your patient 210 has been doing very well the last couple of weeks.

This brings a smile to my face as I read the rest of the letter. I love to help my patients. I want them to know that they can conquer their own fears. My boss is named Madison Bing. I see her walk into the office and over to me.

Hello Dr. Quinzel!

Hello Mrs. Bing, how are you this morning?

I'm doing just fine, Dr. Quinzel I need to tell you something...

What is it?

Well, sense your doing miracles with your patients, I wanted to see if you are up to this challenge I'm giving you...

Yes, what exactly are you saying?

She silently hands me a folder, without a doubt, it's a patients folder. I open up the folder silently. My anticipation was starting to get the best of me. I see out of the corner of my eye Mrs. Bing looking as nervous as ever. I open the folder all the way now.... at the top of the page, I see a name. It felt like the scariest name I have ever seen before. I felt like I was going to faint. I slightly whisper under my breath-

.... Joker....
