Bryson's POV

I woke up rubbing my nose because Carti's hand was on my face. The girl sleeps wild as hell.

I turned left and saw Lani's face which looked so peaceful compared to how terrified she was earlier...

When we had Ty Lani showed me her scars but for the first few months open wasn't the case. The young me would have just given up, I had to realize a few things. One, shit don't come easy and everything don't go my way. Two, you gotta work for the things you want, and three you absolutely positively gotta make sacrifices for the people you love.

Lani knows I'll always be there for her. But I respect her enough not force something out of her.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I got the sudden urge to pee.

Walking to the downstairs bathroom because I didn't wanna make too much noise I heard Lani's phone vibrating on the couch. By the time I got there the call had ended but the motherfucker left many messages.

I didn't wanna dig into something that Lani ain't involve me in; however I need explanation...not for myself but for her pain and hurt. I put her phone down and continued for the bathroom after I finished I grabbed Lani's phone from the couch and went back to my room to get ready for a shower, once I walked in I saw Lani looking in the mirror touching her freckles and at times rubbing at the bruises on her shoulder.

This girl is so beautiful. But so insecure.

"How was the nap?" I said walking up behind her.

"It was okay. I just got very hot." She said turning to me while leaning on the dresser.

"Baby what's wrong? What's been going on with you lately?" I said walking closer now between her legs. "Everything's fine Bryson I'm just... I'm tired." She said pushing me away then and going to the bed.

"What's there to be tired of Lani aren't you happy?" I said looking down at her. She didn't respond but seemed very tense.

"My dad called today." She finally spoke

"Is that who's been blowing up your phone?" I said taking her phone out my nike tech and handing it to her. She read over the messages and simply put her phone down.

She sighed but spoke

" Yes...but that's not somebody I wanna talk to right now let's just leave it at that okay?" She said looking very tired.

The only thing she's told me about her dad is that he left when she was 6 for another family. I didn't wanna start anything but I was sick of her hiding and me not knowing what's going on. "Look Lani I respect you but we've been together long enough that I think it's time for you to open up about your feelings" I said as I sat next to her and touched her thigh.
