Friendship

"Friendship isn't about who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said 'I'm here for you,' and proved it." I have friends whom I've known since the beginning of my life. There are others who I just met recently. There is this one particular boy in my life who is truly a blessing to me. I am extremely glad to have him as a friend because he is always there for me whenever I just can't carry on with life. Ever since he entered my life, everything has now been complete.

In my honest opinion, I firmly believe my eighth-grade year was the best because of Armando Daniel Castillo (atomicdoughnut). At the beginning of the year, I was very lonesome due to the fact I am shy when it comes to making new friends. During summer band, our director wanted us, the 8th graders, to introduce ourselves to the incoming 7th graders. I looked around the band hall, trying to see if I could find myself a person to meet. Then, he just suddenly caught my attention since he was standing alone. We both greeted each other, talked about stuff that we happened to have in common, and ever since then, we started to become close friends. Today, I believe that when you meet someone new, it can develop into a beautiful relationship. That's exactly how I felt when Armando and I first started talking.

Every single detail about Armando is just pure fascinating. For example, whenever I need to talk about something going on in my life, he listens and provides me with some advice so I can solve my problems. Sometimes when I don't have the audacity to do so, we figure them out together. I like to find that as a meaning of true friendship. When one friend is going through something alone, he or she shouldn't have to go through it without the support and motivation from their close friends. Armando is very similar to that characteristic. That's why I consider him a true friend.

From chatting for three hours straight at night about deep thoughts to getting each other doughnuts just because, Armando is a friend like no other. To this day, I'm still jubilant that we met. If we didn't, then what can I say? I'm glad to have him as a friend, and I wouldn't trade our friendship for the world because it is incredibly unbreakable. In my very own words, a true friend will stick by your side, 24/7, no matter what the circumstance is, just to make and see you be happy.
