The King stood solemnly, gazing over his kingdom as it burned.  So this is the end, he thought.  This is what it has all come to.  It was strange to see flames consume the ice, to melt it down to nothing, the perfect white snow turned to an ugly slush.  His kingdom, what he had lived for, melting and burning and being destroyed before him.  Everything he had was gone.  He would burn, his queen would burn, his son would burn, though he had no son.  No son of his would betray him as Jonathan had.  Everyone and everything would burn, burn down into nothingness.
