Over the next few days, Jessica tried her best to keep her distance from the younger man, but she failed. No matter what her conscience told her, she would always need to do the opposite. Russell would ask her questions out of the blue to try and get information out of her. He has learned a lot about her in the past couple of days; Russell gives her his undivided attention whenever she's talking. He wanted to fall in love with her; he wanted her. But they couldn't be together if she didn't want him.

The woman didn't try to run away, and she knew she wouldn't go far. Jessica didn't want to risk the consequences, even though Russell wasn't mad about it the last time she tried to. But she was afraid that it would be a different outcome if she wanted to do it again.

At the moment, they were sitting in the living room. The two were seated crisscrossed, parallel to one another.

They were having a conversation—an interesting discussion, which they were both enjoying.

"I was born in Long Beach, California. I was my parent's only child, so they spoiled me." Russell shrugged, looking down at the older woman. "What about you? Were you the only child?"

"No." Jessica smiled lightly, "I have an older brother. He's one year older than me."

The young man watched her closely before speaking again. "Which makes him thirty-six..."

She nodded and put her head down. "Why me?" It came out as a whisper.

Russell was again taken back by that question, and he hadn't gotten used to her asking that, which he should've because she asks him every day.

"I feel like I know you, honestly." He started, "Sweetheart? Look at me, please." Russell reached out and softly grabbed her chin and lifted it.

"It's something about you that makes me run wild. I don't know what it is, and I can't put a finger on it even though I've only known you for days! Jessica, you're the woman I'm looking for; you are everything I want. I do apologize that I took..." He sighed. "you. I did nothing for you to deserve that, and I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry."

The older woman was at a loss for words. Which caused her to sigh heavily. "Russell I-"

"I know that you're taking this all in..." Russell said in a sympathetic tone.

Jessica bit her right thumb and nodded in agreement.

"I want you so much." He desperately said.

"What are you wearing?"

Russell frowned and looked down at his attire, "What's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

Jessica tried to hold back her laugh but failed miserably. "It looks like you cut up all different types of jeans and put them together to make a shirt."

"I did."

The older woman snorted and shook her head.
