CHAPTER: 1

              New York , New York

The fall changes everything. Turning those brilliant green trees into magnificent flaming torches with shades of gold to red flying of in scattered swirls in the gentle autumn breeze. Caressing & kissing your skin playfully inviting you to herself as if she holds a secret a mystery she wants to divulge only to you hoping that maybe you’ll comprehend what she is why she has come into your life & accept the change she brings.

Blake Westlake stood in front of the exquisite Victorian style high school building. The best that new york’s richest could afford for their kids. He was lean & tall for his age with brown hair & brown eyes with a square jawed face & he was about to join this exclusive school as part of scholarship exchange student from London England. He was not from a well off family so the mere presence of the imposing structure surrounded by vast playgrounds & courtyards adorned with trees intimidated him. It was quite something to behold in person. Now he was wondering that how would he fit in.
It was noon & the school was empty he counted it as a blessing that it will give him some time to calm himself down & focus on what lay ahead.

He let out a deep breath and looked towards another Victorian building looming at the far end of the school grounds.
He recognized it that it was the dorm building & moved towards it with butterflies in his stomach.

---------------------------------------------------------

Blake entered the dorm building crossed the lobby while treading on thick red carpet & went to the marble reception counter. A lanky middle aged man was working behind the counter wearing white shirt. He turned his attention towards Blake when he approached him.
He kept quite & looked at Blake intently.
" Blake Westlake.... exchange student from UK ...." Blake managed he couldn't think of anything else.
" Ah... Mr Westlake. I was expecting you today .... How was your journey " receptionist chimed.
" fine I guess "
" splendid. You must be awfully tired let me show you to your room... follow me " receptionist chirped in elegant manner & took a key from the board on the wall behind him & went to staircase at the far end of the lobby.
Blake followed him quietly dragging his trunk behind him. Soon he found himself standing in front of his supposed room the receptionist unlocked the door & gave him the key.
" dinner will be served at seven downstairs in the mess hall. Good luck " receptionist said turned on his heels & left. Blake got inside the room.
The room was small but neat with two beds adjacent to Each other there was a large glass window in the middle of them overlooking a study table. Thankfully there was a closet & an attached bathroom Blake took in the details & shoved his trunk under the bed on the right side then without further ado he collapsed on the bed & went to sleep.
He woke up startled by the sudden sounds & movements in the room. There was a blond handsome lanky teenager with a pointy face looking at him as he sat on the bed across the window.
" sorry mate. did I startle you " he said in Australian accent.
" NO ... its okay " Blake mumbled & fell back on the pillow again his head buzzed with pain.
" I'm Matt by the way. Matt Slater. Looks like were gonna be room mates buddy "
" yeah I'm Blake... Blake Westlake " Blake got up slowly and shook his hand.
" you alright " Matt inquired.
" NO ... just jet lagged I guess " Blake sighed.
" well same here. You want something to eat "
" what time is it " Blake realized that it was dark outside.
" seven twenty.. we could still make it if you wanna go "
" yeah sure.. I'll be with you in bit " Blake said & went to the washroom.
Soon they were eating at a table in the corner of the neat & simple mess hall bustling dorm tenets.
" So Westlake.. you go first.. How did you end up here "
" Ah.. wanna apply to The Oxford but before that I had to complete my last year at school naturally but there were scholarship problems with my school in London so they gave me an option to study my last year of school here as an exchange student so I figured why not "
" that's weird... not many people can get a scholarship at Savoy... who took your place back home "
" some rich lordling ... his parents didn't wanted him to come here. So I'm it "
" I suppose you're it Westlake "
" Hobbies "
" well I used to play cricket back home "
" Get outta here.. I play cricket too well its not same as Australia here but Savoy has a pretty decent cricket program "
" I thought they were famous for their football team "
" well they are ... of course there is a football team this is America Westlake"
" we're not under the Queen's scepter anymore we're like the friggin Gaijin over here mate we're the other guys " Matt ranted.
" you mean the Cricketers "
" of course I mean the Cricketers "
" well okay... what about you "
" Well what about me " Matt said while munching a mouthful.
" what's your story " Blake inquired.
" oh well... you know little bit of this little bit of that " Matt munched away.
" come on that's not fair "
" alright don't be a girl "
" Dad works at wall street mom lives back home so it was dad's bright idea to drag me across the pond... so now I'm here for the time being.. completed my first year here so this is my last year went back home to meet mom when I came back they'd changed my room so now I share a room with your highness " Matt sprinted through his bio & went back to munching.
" why is  your mom back home "
" Divorced "
" oh I'm sorry "
You don't have to be sorry this ain't a date "
" so... any advice for me about The Savoy "
" stick with me your gonna be fine "
" and eat something will ya " Matt gestured and they finished eating after a while.
" well I'm gonna hit the sack see you tomorrow " Matt said as he got up.
" I think I'll take a walk "
" alright.. later " Matt said & went for the room.
Blake came out of the dorm building.
It was a beautiful night. Clear sky gentle breeze stars blazing in the black velvet above him. He strolled down the stone paved walkway as old halogen lights loomed over it illuminating the gentle gloom that hugged the school grounds. He kept walking lost in thought of future & what it had in store for him.
