Nora's POV
Victoria had spent all of lunch talking about how that douche bag Isaac was moving into her house, she even said they were having a 'family' dinner tonight. That has to be a whole new level of awkward. I contemplate ideas to get her out of it and without really thinking I blurt out an invite to my house."Mum said I can't get out of this one." She says, "But you're coming to the dinner so I don't have to do it alone."
"Hell no!" I say, "take Nathan!"
"Nope this is a girls thing." She says.
I sigh and tell myself how utterly and idiotically stupid I am.
------------
Victoria's POVI feel kind of bad as I look a Nora's shallow face after I force her into coming to what is going to be the world's worst dinner. She keeps exchanging a worried look with Jayden, he went back for her after English but neither of them talked about what happened. Instead they just keep shooting concerned looks at each other.
"Vic maybe you shouldn't push this one." Jayden says without giving any reasons for the statement.
"Nora's got this, she's the best back up I could have." I point out but Nora doesn't even acknowledge the compliment.
"Geez what am I? Chopped liver?" Nathan mutters and wanders off.
"Hey there Sis."
Bile rises in my throat, how dare he even address me like that. Isaac stands looking at us all and Nathan waltzes back defensively. Isaac wears black vans, blue jeans and I tight t-shirt that shows off his almost perfect body.
"First of all I'm not your sister, second go away." I spit the words in his direction.
"No need to be like that. That's no way to welcome a new student." He says and I clench my teeth.
I refuse to look at him and that's when I notice Nora shifting uncomfortably in her chair. Her dark eyes down focused on her lap.
"Can't you take a hint? We don't want to talk to you. I know your type so stay the hell away from Nora and us." Jayden says an agitated look scrambling his perfect facial features.
"Nora? I'm not interested in her. She's not even that pretty." Isaac turns to leave but I lunge at him but Nathan grabs me and hold me back.
"How dare you!" I don't realise I'm yelling until the whole cafeteria is silent. "Go jump off a cliff!" I fume grabbing Nora and dragging her away.
Nora's quiet as we walk quickly across the lot, she's not even looking where she's going.
"I'm coming to your house. I just won't show up for dinner tonight." I say in an effort to cheer her up.
We get in our separate cars and head round to her place. It sits right at the end of a cul-de-sac, a two story brick house with a garden that would beat the Queen's any day. It still never ceases to amazing me how it can be so green in the hot California sun.
"I-"
"Don't Victoria. You don't have to apologise for him." Nora interrupts me but I know she's right, as far as I'm concerned I'd rather die than call him my brother.
"Your right, so how are we gonna make the crappiest first day of school not so crappy?" I say smiling.
"With pizza and a marathon of chick flicks." Nora turns around a smirk playing on her face.
"That's what I'm talkin' about."

Jayden's POV
One thing you shouldn't do it piss a guy off by being a dick to his best friends. Another is pissing a guy off that a has a twin that will be equally pissed off about it.Out of Nathan and I, I am the one with less control. Right now I can feel the rage bubbling inside me like lava in an erupting volcano. Most people would describe me as the hot head and Nathan as the calm one. Together we're both calm in most situations, but not this one.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" I growl through clenched teeth.
Isaac just shrugs like it's no big deal that he just shattered Nora. I have never wanted to punch someone's lights out as much as I want to punch his out right now.
"I don't know what you're talking about?" He says coldly.
"The hell you don't! Not even that pretty! What are you gay?! Nora's gorgeous, how dare you say otherwise!" I snap.
Nathan looks increasingly uncomfortable but doesn't make a move to stop my rant. My fists are balled up and I can feel the urge to hit him so hard that he needs surgery, but I don't. Nora wouldn't want that, she knows I'm better than that.
"Same goes for Vicki, gorgeous and in a way different league to scum like you. You don't belong here so why don't you crawl back to whatever rat infested sewer you came from." Nathan says locking eyes with Isaac.
My jaw is on the ground, I can't believe sweet little innocent Nathan just said that. My brother just got a set of balls, I can't believe it.
"Come on bro, don't wanna catch a disease from this scum do we now." Nathan says a smile playing on his face.
The two of us walk away leaving Isaac looking like a fool and that is the most satisfying feeling ever. We avenged the girls like were their Batman and Superman. I suppose you thinking why not Batman and Robin? Well Nathan are equal both as strong as each other so we can't be Batman and Robin.
Enough of the superhero talk, we just want to bask in our glory. It's pretty hard to do that when we're worried about the girls, but I have no doubt that they'll be over at Nora's eating junk food and watching sappy love movies. I know you're wondering something right now, why am I so protective of Nora? I've loved her a long time, since the fifth grade. She was always the kind of person I wished I could be, bright, selfless and forgiving. She has the most beautiful soul, and for someone like Isaac to criticise her like that it made me shudder with rage. Sure we are only friends but a part of me has always wanted more, I don't want to ruin our friendship so I took on the brother role instead.
I don't know what Nora wants, she never speaks about it. I know she keeps a diary where she writes everything. She is the kind of girl that any guy that has the pleasure of even knowing her, would be one of the luckiest people on earth. I am one of those people, I still remember the day I met her. Nathan and I were new to school and we had to do a speech in front of the whole class as schoolwork on our second week there. I swear no person alive had ever been as nervous as I was that day. Nora noticed my stress at lunch before I had to do mine. The moment she spoke to me I felt like I could tell her anything. So I told her just how freaked out I was.
"Just focus on me. Look at me the whole time, because I believe in you and I know you can do this." She'd said to me.
To this day I remember those words and that moment like it was yesterday. So here we are eleventh grade and still side by side, all four of us.
So if this dick Isaac wants to play hardball, we're game.
