Falling|Bend Brook High School for the Gifted and Talented(Quick A/N Translations will either be at the end or beginning of each chapter!)
"Welcome seniors of Bend Brook High School for the Gifted and Talented, blah blah, blahbitty blah! The school where dreams come true, or die out, where hearts, along with noses and arms/legs get broken! Welcome seniors, to another year of hell, and hard work, and pain! But think of it this way, it's your last year of hell, hard work, and pain! Because right after you graduate, you're going to experience real life!
"So do whatever the hell you want, smoke, drink, have sex. You all know my rules; NO drugs, don't drink or smoke on campus during school hours, please have safe and sanitary sex. If you find you ever need a condom, there are stashes everywhere guys. In the bathrooms, in empty lockers, by water fountains, in the front office, wherever you look, ok gentleman. For those of you who have a different... Taste, lube will can also be found in those places. Please try and make sure the little session doesn't make anyone late to class, ok. And don't forget to clean up!
"You're all adults now, so I trust that you'll do it responsibly, but just in case some of us need to be reminded; if I find out any of you are with minors, you've ruined it for everyone, not just yourself.
Now, for those of you who are new here, let me introduce myself: I'm Matthew Dowd, your principal, your friend, whatever. I'm 27, married, and have 1 kid, another on the way. I want the best for your future, and it is your future, so as you can tell, I won't interfere, and make decisions for you, but if you find yourself needing help, or guidance, I'm here for you. Thanks for your time and patience."
There were heaps and heaps of applause as Mr. Dowd ended his beginning of the year speech, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I was one of those people clapping. Not even one bit. Everybody loved Mr. Dowd, mainly because he promoted (safe) sex, drinking, smoking, and was all around chill.
Not only that, but Mr. Dowd is actually cool in general, he gives out candy in the halls instead of detention slips, he hangs out with students, and sometimes even teaches class. That benefitted not only Mr. Dowd, but us too, because people truly like him, which makes it easier to listen and learn.
"Okay guys, settle down," and immediately everybody did, "I'm serious though guys, enjoy your youth while you can. Okay, now apart from all that serious shit- sorry, I mean crap- as part of BBHS' senior year tradition, we have all the new kids in line," Mr.Dowd waved behind him, at the slightly long line.
"Now, I have to get going, I still have to do my job, and welcome the rest of the school, too. So, please introduce yourselves, and then the rest of you are dismissed to do whatever until the bell rings for the end of the day, May I remind you that while you all have free time, no one is to leave campus until lunch, got it? I expect everyone that does leave for off campus lunch is back by 1:35. Peace."
Everyone immediately cheered loudly, and once Mr.Dowd got off the stage, the new kids all rushed to get the introductions over with.
I got up, as many others did, already looking for my friend. I zoned in and out, catching names here and there. I finally spotted Violet Markey, my literal best friend since birth, and rushed toward her, almost tripping over my own two feet, and falling into her arms.
"Vi, I missed you so fucking much! How are you! You have to tell me everything about Belgium!"
She giggled, playfully slapping my hands off of her, "Unnie! I missed you!" I snorted. Since when has she called me Unnie?
"What's with the formalities, you little pig?"
"Oh, shut up you, amkae. Can't you see I'm trying to be nice, for once?" I laughed, shaking my head. "What? What's so funny?"
"Nothing. Let's just go get some boba tea from the cafeteria, yeah?"
"Okay, but last one there is buying!" and she took off running.
"Ya! You little brat! Come back here!"
-----
"Sooooo, meet any cute boys this summer?" Violet leaned into me, slurping on her guava boba tea as she did so. I tilted my head, and put a finger on my chin as I pretended to think about it. "Hmm. Let me see... There was that one guy at the airport, he was spicy hot! And there was the guy who worked at the hotel we stayed at, mhm, he was burning, no, smoking hot! Also the guy-" she slapped me in the arm.
"OW! What was that for?" she just sat there glaring at me as if I had done something wrong. She sipped on her drink, "I'm serious when it comes to talking about your non-existing love life, because, you know Bailey, I not gonna be around forever. I'm just trying make sure you don't end alone for the rest of your life." Her expression sumean unless you want to! I mean, I'm not judging you!" I just sighed. We had been through this numerous times.
"Violet, I've you this already! I'm not dating till college, okay? I'm just not ready, plus I won't have the time for dating this year. If I wanna get into Seoul National University, I absolutely keep up with my studies."
"I know, I know. I'm sorry uni, it's just that I don't want you to end up like-"
BANG!
Violet and I immediately turned to the cafeteria doors. Standing there, was Ava Vaughn, a senior just like us, and one of our closest friends.
I got up out of my chair and walked towards her. "Hey Ava. What's wrong?" She whipped around towards me, and screamed.
"He's HERE!!! The rumors were actually TRUE!!!" she grabbed my shoulders and started to jump up and down.
"Ava!" she was still jumping, and I'd had enough. "Ava! Ava Vaughn, for fuck's sake!" when she still didn't stop jumping, I slapped her.
"What the hell Ava? What's going on?" Violet now seemed interested in something else other than my love life, and her boba.
"Yeah, Ava, whose here? And what rumors were true?"
Her eyes were so wide, I was afraid that might pop out her eye sockets, plus the fact that she was really pale, and was sweating really hard scared me.
"Samuel Park is here! He goes to our school."
