Needless to say, the Creepypastas were unsettled. But to the Observer's own surprise they did believe it was a reincarnated Jane. It was at one large meeting in the lounge that the Observer did attend, that they questioned him.
"Well, I believe you can tell us what exactly occurred?" Slenderman asked politely after the Observer's constant dodge of questions.
Hidden in the darkness of a corner, all eyes on him, he chuckled. "Yes, I can." He began to fade away. "But I won't."
The entire group glared at the Observer as he disappeared. "Why can't he take anything seriously?" E.J. exclaimed.
Masky and Hoodie shrugged in unison, not recognizing the rhetorical question. "He obviously doesn't care," Jeff muttered.
"If she really has returned, who says she won't cause trouble all over again? It took BEN almost a day to heal after that little attack she did," Slenderman bellowed. BEN scowled at the memory.
"How hard would it be to kill the bitch again?" He asked bitterly, his eyes flashing.
"I wish I was home at the time, I could have quickly caught her!" Slenderman said with anger, fighting the temptation to destroy anything around him.
Suddenly a note floated down from the ceiling, clearly something of the Observer's work. Laughing Jack quickly snatched it and threw it at Slenderman across the room. Slenderman began to read out loud, "She's a rusted one. The mint has malfunctioned. Oh sir, how hard is it to figure out?"
"The first two sentences are hints," Sally piped.
"The last one is mocking me," Slenderman said as he crumpled up the paper.
A deep laughter echoed through the room. Another note floated from the ceiling, this time Silver caught it. A black liquid stained one corner. Silver's eyes looked around, "Looks like Zalgo decided to join the party for once."
Slenderman took this note as well. "Slenderman, are you becoming more and more human every day? Put two and two together. I am beginning to fear your ignorance more than your demeanor."
Slenderman balled up his fists, "You are children!" He roared. Slender then went quiet, his mind moving like fast gears, solving the riddle. Then he began to laugh, bitter and deep. He tossed the note to the ground and promptly began to walk away.
"Where are you going?" BEN demanded.
His back still towards BEN as he walked, he replied, "I don't feel like dealing with Penny anymore."
The only sound in the air was Slenderman's heavy footsteps. Hoodie was the first to say something, "Oh shit."
"Oh shit is right, Hoodie," said Sally as she pinched the bridge of her nose. They all faced her, surprised at her use of a curse. "Oh, I am over twenty years old by now, I will say what I want, especially in a time of crisis."
The slight shock of Sally's sudden maturity was overshadowed by the thought of Penny's return, revenge bound. The group of monsters didn't know what to express: anger, excitement, panic. For the first time, in a room full of prodigious psychopaths, not one soul knew how to react, all they could feel were Hoodie's crude words as the emotions inside of them.
Jeff finally spoke, "Her tactics prove her to be stronger and more agile. She took me and BEN out, how strong is she now?"
Once more, out in the deep forest, the Observer was speaking with Penny. "They know."
"Good," she replied.
"How so?"
"I don't want them to have any doubt for a second that I would hesitate to kill them."
The Observer grinned, "What's your strategy now?"
Penny snickered. "I'm coming home."
