A shattered soul (Ash Landers love story)

Chapter one

Athena's pov:
The Queen has hired me to kill a man in his forties. He has kidnapped and killed many innocent children. I scanned the road on the rooftop of a house. I saw him,I silently walked to the edge of the house and I aimed my gun at his head. I pulled the trigger. The bullet went through his head,he fell to the ground limply. I hopped off of the roof and walked up to him. I called the queen. "Your Majesty,he is dead." I said. "Good. Come and get your money in a few minutes." she said and hung up. I smirked under my mask. "My job is done. Now,I have some time to buy some new equipment." I said to myself. I looked up at an abandoned bell tower and saw a figure of a man. I blinked and he was gone. I shook off the uncomfortable feeling and headed to the queens place.

As soon as I got to the queens place I walked in to see her. Once I got to her room I walked in and saw her looking out of the window. She wore a black dress and a thick black veil. I bowed. "Your Majesty, I have come to collect my money." I said. She looked at me."Ah,Athena my butler Ash will collect your money." she said and nodded towards a man with white hair. My eyes widened. He was the man on the bell tower.

He nodded and left the room. "Please,sit and have some tea." she said and gestured towards a red velvet chair across from her. I sat down and she handed me a cup of warm tea. I took a sip and set the fragil cup down in the saucer. "My Queen,your butler is following me. Earlier tonight I saw him on a bell tower." I informed her. She laughed. "He has always been interested in your job so he has been following you. Just for observation." she said "He has grown quite fond of you. Perhaps you could take him on one of your jobs one night." she continued. "Well,I do need extra help. Okay,I will let him come with me." I said. She clapped. "Wonderful." she said.

The door opened and I saw the man. "Ash,you will go with Athena on her jobs from now on." she said. He smiled gently and walked up to me he grabbed my hand and kissed my hand. "I am Ash Landers." he said. I nodded. "I am Athena Astraea." I said. He walked behind the queens chair and stared at me. I cleared my throat. "Well I think I will collect my money and go." I said. The queen nodded and Ash handed me my money. "I must go,goodbye your majesty." I said. "Wait, let Ash take you home." she said. I nodded and Ash followed me.

We walked outside and we walked in complete silence. A horrible cry pierced through the air. I ran towards the horrible sound. I saw a door was opened slightly. It almost looked like darkness poured out of the door. I walked cautiously towards the door. I grabbed the handle and opened the door. I saw a woman laying on the floor. Dead. Her blood painted the walls and her body is mangled beyond recognition. I stood in the door way. Emotionless. Ash ran up to me. "My goodness...." he gasped. I closed the door gently. "Let's go. I have seen enough blood today." I said. He nodded. We walked away. I walked ahead of him. He ran to catch up with me.

I finally got home and Ash was right behind me. "Uh...you can come in if you want." I said. I fumbled with the keys for a bit and when I finally got the right key I unlocked the door. I opened the door. It was pitch black. "I will find a light switch." Ash said. I nodded. He walked into my house and began to look around. Even in the dark I can still see his white hair and he looks like an angel. He has a small glow to him. The lights turned on.

I blikned and saw Ash in front of me. "Found the switch." he said. I nodded and walked past him. I walked to a closet. I opened it and I saw my equipment. I put my weapons in the closet and grabbed a pen and paper.
I wrote down and checked my inventory. I scribbled down what I needed on a separate peice of paper. Ash was right beside me. "Ms.Athena,what are you doing?" he asked. "I was checking inventory. I am writing down what I need." I said. "I need to see a friend." I said. I grabbed a knife and walked towards the door. "Let me come with you." he said. I nodded. We headed to a shady area in london and we walked up to a club. "Uh...is this where your friend is?" he asked cautiously. I nodded. I walked in and he stayed close to me. I couldn't see through the cloud of cigarette smoke.
