Mookie
"Am i wrong for wanting better? Should i just settle forever?
Oh oh oh oh i swear it feels like, this is as good as it gets.
Am i wrong for wantin cheddar? Although they'll tell you that i'll never get out of here i swear i'm driven by a better life.
I wanna be ri-""Man, would you shut the fuck up?" My brother Tahj said muggin me from my bedroom doorway. "Nigga can hear you all the way downstairs."
"Well a 'Nigga' needa back up off me and lemme do me. Cause i can sing and thats on G." I said knowingly.
"Facts." My oldest brother Terry said pushing Tahj out the way and jumping down on my bed.
"Imean you cah sing Mookie, and imean you can blow! But every morning bruh? Seriously?" He said with a straight face making me and Terry bust out laughing.
"Wateva." I said finishing my last curl of my hair.
I was going to see my man. Or as Terry would call him 'That lil ass nigga that betta not fuckin play witchu or he gonn catch one right inna middle'. I know imma little young to be saying my "man" but 15 is a age where love can be found and as far as i'm concerned Bryson is more man than I ever seen. He ain't like the rest of these niggas. Meaning, he's very mature, he keeps money, he dont show off in front of his niggas, he respects me on a daily basis, and last but definitely not least he aint NEVER cheated!!!!
What more can a bitch ask for?"Where you going? You doin yo hair and shit but you betta not be going with that flock ass nigga you call boyfriend." Tahj said getting Terry's attention towards me too.
I shot my eyes at Tahj through the mirror. He knew exactly where this conversation was about to go now and so did I.
"What boyfriend? Cause I hope you aint talkin bout that nigga Brandon." He said as he stopped textin on his phone to look at me.
"His name is Bryson and i dont see why you have such a problem with my nigga! Imean he a-"
"Yo what! Mookie don't even try and play that innocent shit wit me! That ain't yo nigga and you ain't his bitch! I know exactly what niggas like him get into and what they want. And you betta believe it ain't just no fuckin kiss. So if i find out yall doing anything its gonn be fuck ma, fuck daddy, and fuck Tahj cause you gonn have to deal with me and thats on G." He said cutting me off.
Now, i wasn't scared of Terry or Tahj for that matter. But when it came to times when Terry made threats.... I knew that he wasn't playin. See, my whole family is paid and that's facts. My daddy? A kingpin. Tahj? Negotiator. Terry? Hitman/next in line. My ma? Well, she was just a plain down bitch. Ya know in love wit a thug. And me? Im in love with the whole idea of it. The money, the cars, the houses, and the respect. Not to mention the fuckin guns.....
Flashback...
I was 12 years old my daddy was teaching Tahj and Terry the routine....
"Never use a machine to count your money for you cause see, some niggas get slick and would stick regular white paper in between the real money and then you fucked." He said taking two stacks and handing it to both of em.
I watched through the crack in the door as they both started counting. I wanted to be apart of it so bad. I watched all night until i fell asleep by the door. I woke up the next morning in my bed and smelled breakfast which made me hop out of bed and run down the stairs. As soon as i was about to reach the kitchen doorway, I heard a loud bang making me and my ma jump up and look back.
"That nigga forgot to close the door again?" My momma said mostly to herself.
15 seconds later my daddy came out of the basement with Terry and Tahj right behind him laughin.
