Seb's coat wrapped around her shoulders and hung loosely off her frame as she stood in the overhang at the entrance of the school. There was something about him that she couldn't quite put her finger on that made him entirely irresistible, aside from being the hottest person she had ever met. When he was practically leaning against her in the car she had almost died right then and there. No more Nora, only a human shell. She had died and gone to heaven.
Someone brushed against her shoulder and shook her from the reverie. She blinked brusquely and came to a stop as a hand caught her shoulder.
"Are- are you new here?" A young girl stood in front of her, with a curious look on her face; one of curiosity and slight excitement. "We don't get a lot of new people that often."
Nora cleared her throat, "Yeah, my name's Nora,"
"Oh my god hi! I'm so excited to meet you! I'm Alison," she fangirled over Nora, grabbing her hand and squealing a little. "Literally no one ever comes to Blue Moon this town is in the middle of NO WHERE. You'd think with the college a couple towns over they would try to market to the younger people but no there is absolutely nothing here. Ugh I'm sorry this town is a good town. It's... quiet. I don't want to give you a bad impression on the town. How long have you been here?" Alison led Nora through the school's fluorescently lit hallways. Her feet skidded across the slippery white linoleum as she stumbled after Alison. The dark blue lockers lining the long hallway seemed to stretch forever and between them an endless swath of people crowding before the bell rang and school began.
"Alison, um, I need to go to the main office?" Nora interrupted the stream of words coming from Alison about all the opportunities at the school.
"Oh my god sure I can take you there and then I can help you find your locker if you want," she threw a friendly smile towards Nora and led her down a corridor to the right. "The office, is right through here, I can wait for you if you want?"
Nora hesitated, "Uh yeah that'd be great actually," Minutes later she had her schedule and was back outside with Alison.
The tall blonde pushed away from the wall she was leaning on and tucked her phone into her back pocket. "So?" she questioned with a smile.
"All set," Nora smiled at the girl who was quickly becoming her friend. While she definitely talked a lot, Alison seemed genuinely nice, someone that Nora could see herself being friends with.
"So where are we going? Where's your locker? Also class starts soon so we should hurry," Alison sped back through the hallways in another direction, passing through the hordes of people. Why were there so many people in Blue Moon? Nora thought this was supposed to be a tiny town in the middle of nowhere...
Alison stopped before a locker at the end of the hallway, to the right of a large window. "Here is your locker, mine's actually just across the hallway, number 504," a friendly smile covered her face. Just as Nora was about to start opening her locker, the bell sounded through the hallway. Almost instantly the halls cleared and revealed a hallway that didn't feel quite so claustrophobic after all. "I better go, otherwise I'll be late. But your first class is two classrooms that way on the right. Here's my phone number, text me and we will meet up for lunch," Alison scribbled her number onto Nora's forearm, gave a friendly smile and flounced away in her flowered dress that was way too light for the rather chilly day.
Nora rushed down the hallway, counting the classrooms and stopping before the correct door. Here's to a first day at school.
The day didn't fly by, but also didn't drag. It was a pretty average first day at school, and the first four classes before lunch yielded a couple new introductions. She now had a lab partner, Eddy, and a group that she was supposed to do an english project with. Now she was more than ready to go to lunch.
