I woke up with a dizzy head.
I failed to escape!
"Looks like you're awake, we're near." "Your other luggages are already on your room at the university —"
"Stop the car," pagpuputol ko sa pagsasalita n'ya. There is no way I'm going to set foot in that damn university.
Erick glanced at me for a moment before focusing on the road. "You can't call anyone from the outside as it is prohibited. Family will get notified for emergencies only—
"Hindi mo ba narinig ang sinabi ko? Itigil mo ang sasakyan!"
Halos masubsob ako paharap nang bigla s'yang nagpreno. I was about to yell at him when I saw how he looked at me... was that sadness?
"Why are you so stubborn!? I almost laughed bitterly, a tear slipping down my cheek that I hadn’t even realized was there. This is the first time he yelled at me...
"What do you know?" mapakla kong tanong. "Just continue tailing on our father like a dog and stop acting you fucking care!"
I stared at the towering gate, slowly feeling the surge of anger and helplessness through me.
"Elisse, please!"
A lump formed in my throat but I swallowed it down as I realized how trapped I was, just like my father wanted. My fists clenched involuntarily, nails digging into my palms as I struggled to keep my emotions in check. I took a deep breath, forcing myself to stay calm. I had to keep my head clear if I wanted to figure a way out of this.
Finally, I turn around to face him. "Don't follow me."
"I will go to that damn university, and I promise you it'll never going to end well for you and Dad once I figured my way out." He froze, his mouth half-open, like he wanted to argue but didn’t know how.
"Hindi ko alam kung anong plano mo, but make sure you're going to do it right."
"I hope you can forgive me someday. 'Til we meet again my little sister."
What does he mean? May alam ba s'ya?
"Miss Sandoval?"
